Great fun! Wonderful dialogue and a sparkling twist at the end. This is a marvelous ten minute piece and needs some staging right away!

  • James Binz: Bed Play; The Elements of Intimacy

This terrific and unashamed slice of life is a revelation. These characters spark with tension and attraction and they fit this plot perfectly. The scenes reveal so much messy detail and so much exceptional life. Emma Carter has revealed a brave world of sex and emotion that is attractive and repulsive at the same time. This would be a challenge for actors and directors - but the pace, plot and characters are too good not to take up. I truly enjoyed the read - thank you!

  • James Binz: Piss Cup Payments

I recall being subjected to urine testing regularly in the Army. There was always talk about selling or buying your clean sample. Hank is quite the salesman and his persuasion is almost irresistible. The last moment is a shocker!

  • James Binz: Calling the Game

A clever monologue - the announcer is a frazzled, sleepy fellow in a game of no apparent consequence. He sleepwalks through a run producing inning and heads out for garlic fries. You can almost smell the place!

  • James Binz: The Dissolution Mask

What a tough situation - I really felt for these 2 characters. The dialogue crackles with intensity and the plot is fast paced and strong. This would win a short play festival competition. It has all the elements and is very well written. The actors would have much to chew on and this would be a challenge and a delight to stage. VERY WELL DONE!

  • James Binz: Of Milk and Mirrors...

I got to read a great 10 page beginning of this fairly experimental piece. Strong start and I really enjoyed seeing the actor/husband get to play all the parts. Jessica Huang has created a weird world that reads true and stands up. I think this would be a terrific one act to see on stage. Great dialogue and fascinating pace and plot. Brava

  • James Binz: When Harry Hated Sally

This was a delight to read and would be even better staged. Stephen Pryor has assembled a wonderful two hander with great characters and a frenetic pace. Fairy tales have never been so abused and so wonderful. Great ending, too! Nicely done!

  • James Binz: Pinning. Punning. Pining.

Masterful wordplay. This is a fun little piece that would work very well on stage. The pacing is good and the dialogue is true. These are wonderful characters that are a joy to meet and watch. Always nice to see the slow simmer of potential romance. Brava

  • James Binz: Hit and Match

Very funny. Michael Hagins has a way with comedy. The farcical world of shooters and online dating have rarely been so well put together. These characters have terrific motivations and voices and the pace feels just right. I would love to see this on stage. Worthy of production to be sure!

  • James Binz: Lingerie Shop

Instead of six characters in search of an author - Bryan Colley presents us with six characters in search of a way out of a script that controls their every movement and dialogue. Frenetic pace and monologues spoken as quickly as humanly possible keep the farce element in chaotic staging. Feminism is a big topic here, but something of the male playwright privilege is here, too. It's often a struggle to bring the dream world of men to the stage without being a perv. This is well done.
