    “ This delightful piece explores the very real possibility that our faded relationships live among each other in an assisted living center... in Canada. Makes sense to me! Bavoso packs this scene with farcical architecture, coaxing the audience not only to accept this wacky new world, but to move forward with the hilarious and harrowing concept that our minds are populated with characters that *spoiler alert* we've put there. Lovely possibilities here for two comedic actors. ”

    “ The unseen men who invent Canadian Girlfriends give a poignancy to the set up that adds real weight and heft to this delicious comedy. The comedy is brisk and constant. In context, "That's why you're such a good typist" is a dizzying punchline. And the revelation that there are and will be fewer Canadian Girlfriends as men go directly to authentic lives is real cause for celebration. ”

    “ John Bavoso's short comedy has a strong concept and even stronger execution. He shows a real affection for Tiffany, whose existence is thrown into turmoil before she ever has much of a chance to live her life. There are plenty of laughs, but the best part is the depth Bavoso brings -- we control our lives, we don't exist solely to serve as a function of someone else's life. ”

    “ What happens to a tulpa after it's been willed into existence but no longer has a purpose? What happens with that tulpa when it's the fictional and stock "girlfriend from Canada"? This very funny ten minute play asks that story and at the same time makes a very good point . A great read and I'm guessing would be a fun piece to both perform and see performed. ”

    “ Extremely clever & creative comedy about the adventures of a mythical Canadian girlfriend. Genuine laughs here. Warning: contains one of the most groan-inducing jokes [on purpose of course] seen in recent memory. Involves an '80s pop singer. Good stuff. Highly recommended. ”
