Recommendations of To The Moon!

  • Rand Higbee: To The Moon!

This is my first encounter with a play by Lisa Dellegiarino Feriend. Having written a few sci-fi type plays myself, the title caught my attention. What harm is there in telling a little white lie on the first date? Don't we all do it? Unfortunately, a little white lie backfires spectacularly on poor Joe. A quick, fun little piece that would work well in any 10-minute festival.

  • Tom Moran: To The Moon!

An entertaining look at how much a little white lie can backfire. "To the Moon!" takes the audience along for a ridiculous ride. Feriend mixes in just enough believability to sell the absurd premise, and does an excellent job bouncing the characters of the rocksteady astronauts with that of her spectacularly nervy hero. Good fun.

  • Christopher Plumridge: To The Moon!

Ha! The consequences of a little lie told many years before can live with you a long time, so Joe finds out in this fun play by Lisa. He's won a trip to the moon, of which he has quite a dislike for. Better still, this trip of a life time was won from a cereal box!
I love this play, and at breakfast tomorrow I'll be checking all Kellogs boxes in my cupboard....

  • Sam Heyman: To The Moon!

There's so much to love about To The Moon! by Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend. Women astronauts! Cereal partnerships with NASA! Civilian passengers who are living an elaborate lie! Feriend's journey through space and "agreeable" dishonesty is a hilarious delight from take off to landing.

  • Morey Norkin: To The Moon!

The lengths some people will go to just to be “agreeable”! Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend uses a trip to the moon to tell a wildly funny and unexpected story. What you can expect is the smart writing that is found in all of Feriend’s work. Houston, we have a winner!

  • Arianna Rose: To The Moon!

A hilarious short play about the webs we weave when we deceive. Joe's lie fuels him all the way to the moon with two astronauts who tell it like it is. So creative and wonderful, To The Moon! is a perfect example of theatricality, imagination, and humor. Playwright Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend has crafted a delightful comedy that should be produced everywhere.

  • William J. Goodwin: To The Moon!

Great dialogue and totally unique conflict! Funny but also smart. Also, a clean script, for those us teaching kids! Thank you, Lisa!

  • Paul Donnelly: To The Moon!

Poor Joe can't catch a break. One innocent fib on a first date sets off a cascade of events that bring him to the surface of the moon. A place he has no desire to be. How he gets there and how the astronauts he travels with handle his reservations and revelation make for a delightful comic gem.

  • Charles Scott Jones: To The Moon!

Except for the title TO THE MOON! - this efficient and witty short play would seem to have nothing to do with Ralph Kramden and The Honeymooners. Yet it does forewarn of a future difficult marriage, as astronauts Maria and Allison probe contest winner Joe on their lunar trip. Feriend's comedic timing is outstanding in this piece (not a wasted word or false motion). And I love Joe's three reasons for not liking the moon. The dry humor of the astronauts as they suss out Joe's character achieves something rare, bemused sympathy for Bethany, a character who never appears!

  • John Busser: To The Moon!

I don't know why, but I think the thing I love most here is the fact that Kellogg's sponsored a civilian trip to the moon (maybe it's the hard "K" sound, a staple of good comedy!) This is the kind of play that puts a goofy grin on your face for the duration of it. I certainly was smiling while reading it. It's fanciful, imaginative, and whimsical. And that last line made my laugh out loud. This is a winner.
