  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: METONYM OR THE ALMOST COMPLETELY FALSE STORY BEHIND THE CREATION OF ROGET'S THESAURUS

Adorable! Captivating! Delightful! This play is synonymous with fun! Well done!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Second Honeymoon

This short play is wonderfully worked out to go much further than I expected it to go, with dialogue that really moves and turns. Plummer does a great job with the details like when Mary is knitting and when she's not - and as a knitter myself, it all makes so much sense! There is also a wistfulness, a sense of regret that propels Mary toward what she really wants, and I am absolutely hoping that this time around she'll get every last bit of it!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Interview with a Dinosaur

Plummer does a great job with this short comedy that is full of surprises! First I loved the earnest little guy, and then it made me contemplate assumptions about human dominance in the world. I think it was Viktor Shlovsky who called it defamiliarization - I call it a lot of fun that actually gets us thinking! I hope it gets produced everywhere!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Happy Together

A wonderfully bizarre and dramatic play with wonderful roles for two actors each doubling as one other character which adds so much! I also appreciate the tone and spareness of the play reminiscent of Duras or Hemingway taking place in some far away country full of beaches, cafes, and whispers. The play also seems to have a conscience - well done!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: EVERYBODY HATES MARIAH CAREY

I second everyone here - this is hilarious and wonderful and should be on everyone's list of Antidotes for Christmas Cheer! Thank you!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: THE ARRIVAL OF A TRAIN

Rachael juggles so much here - history, the moment as it happens, the language and the rhythms which are both wonderfully varied and help not only to place us in space and time but also create France and the fear in the audience to whom she speaks and the story hidden from the story - and she does it all in a very charming way! Brava!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: TROJAN BARBIE

I love Barbie, and I love this no-holds-barred approach to the classics updated for our post-modern enjoyment. Evans makes this entirely relevant in brilliant new ways. A very inventive script!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Man in the Sukkah

There is so much in this play that I love - the begats, the yard-sites, the way Yarchun makes everything very specific and necessary so that nothing at all is extraneous, every line of this play is the whole play. A thrilling and dramatic piece that would be so incredible to light, and then to see!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Thrive, Or What You Will [an epic]

Definitely makes it into my top 10 plays for the year! Feldman manages to to give us the entire world (and its taxonomy) in her epic opus that is filled with great moments, surprises, drama, passion and always exposes the hypocrisy of "Western Civilization" mining it for comedy with her very large heart.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: For The Love Of (or, the Roller Derby Play)

For the love of a cast of 9 women! For the love of dialogue that feels as fresh as sun chasing fog off the Verrazano. For the love of the spectacle of those 9 diverse women moving as a pack of dancing roller derby-ists! But mostly for the love of the twists and turns that keep this play moving where I least expect it so that I get taken for a fast and fascinating ride!
