  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: THE NEXT MOVE-Radio Play

What a beautifully sad and moving play! Reminiscent of Ionesco in its alarm and circularity and Albee in the stakes - here is an enormously hard situation, and it is heartbreaking to see how they are managing.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Pinktop

How beautiful is this?! So well done, not at all sentimental, and filled with all the specifics to help us through it beat by beat! Those black rooftop tiles getting all pinked up with her little pink chalk - even the title is a winner!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Dog

Well-written, page-turner of a play - I could not put it down! Each human character is like a different kind of dog, and it would be a really fun piece to direct considering all the different kinds of dog body language! I loved watching how Joan - a rather passive dog - works really hard in scene 2 to get what she wants without having to confront her aggressive partner. Walker adds all the doggy things/ideas/actions you can think of - including the secret one you won't admit you wanted!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Heart in a Box

The Master of Kisses, Matthew Weaver has written a beautiful play about looking for love filled with metaphor and meaning. I dare anyone to refuse to identify with Z! I was hoping and dreaming along with him the whole time! This would be a great opportunity for a director/choreographer and/or devising actors to get to play and invent for this openly inclusive project! Beautiful work!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Every Which Way but Sunday

With the biggest, goofiest smile on my face finishing this on the subway, I have to say this is a superbly enjoyable play! The first impaling was thrilling enough, but the second? Two completely motivated impalings? Awe-inspiring!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Shirt

Lovely play on a favorite topic of mine - a mother's death! It is so essential that this work is shared and seen because of all the misconceptions about what is right or wrong to do at the funeral, etc, and this play goes straight to the core of that. Wonderfully written!

Wonderfully dramatic piece! I am intrigued with the circumstances and how Kelly deals with fire itself onstage - very creatively! Would be wonderful to see fully realized!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Twelve: A Tragedy

How do we remake the world a better place? I really appreciate that Hardy asks this question in this fascinating piece filled with the potential for great stage pictures! Choreography! And Beauty!

I love plays about death! Especially plays about mothers who are dead! I love mythology! And I love it when there's more than I expect, when I can feel something right off the page because then you know it's going to be great on its feet!
