  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: The Sandbox

Here is a living universe filled with wild animals and daring adventures for everyone involved. In 10 minutes Osborne-Lee gives every single character onstage so much life, the play is bursting with it. Full of secrets and spies I was flooded with relief at the end!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Battle Cry

It is a great leap, truly a milestone, to be able to read such an honest, gripping play with a 15 year old female protagonist poc - I love every moment of this.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: God Said This

This is a beautifully written wonderfully rich play! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. The characters are human and flawed, and yet there is real active searching not only for redemption but also forgiveness - not often seen, and not easy to do, and Leah Nanako Winkler gets it done!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY

This was a joy to read and would be amazing onstage! I love the language, the short scenes where just one thing happens and it's enough, and I love the way the action moves forward until it's over in a breathless moment of surprise! I also really admired how the Preacher speaks Tino's experience - this is a wonderful bit of dramaturgy! And all the goodness and mercy - yes!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: POSITIVE

Krause has written a funny and philosophical play about how to consider living in this crazy ruined world for young women who have the most at stake for just starting out and not having made too many huge errors yet and the terror of the futures that await them depending on the choices they make. I felt for them all, especially the bloody one!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Queen

Royally suspenseful! It is rare for me to have such an edge-of-my-seat experience for a science play, and rare for me to care about the love subplot, but I did! Wonderfully done - I am abuzz!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: LAUDANUM

LAUDANUM - like shell-shock - jars and estranges experience before our eyes so that we are made to see it instead of pass by or through. I love that Carnes has a sense of Time as continual/ongoing/accruing within us that informs her intensely dramatic instincts! This would be an amazing piece to watch!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: When We Get Her Home

This is such a nightmare of a situation, and Savadge does a great job leaking out bits of truth as the play moves to its crushingly inevitable end. I have a visceral reaction - my skin is crawling with anxiety - wow!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: CHOCOLATE

This metaphorical journey functions on many levels and is funny, romantic and touching!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Curves (a monologue)

YES! I absolutely remember learning to suck my tummy in! This is such a fantastic piece of dramaturgy that takes us from the suck to the gym to the kitchen; from the shame to the pain to the hunger and the love! It goes all the way with the journey, and I am the better for having been on this ride. Thank you! Second helping please!
