  • Shaun Leisher: MEET CUTE

Such a delightful ten minute play that is genuinely. Filled with clever dialogue and touching moments. The ending is equal parts adorable and horrifying as the meeting between our two friends concludes with the ultimate “meet cute.”

  • Shaun Leisher: Éléphant

A play that beautifully captures the wonder and innocence of childhood along side the horrors of this world. A play that looks at the horrors of child prostitution in the past while also being a reminder that this is a very real problem today all around the world. Pollitt gives us a look into the lives of these women that do what they must to survive and refuses to judge them. She only presents the character’s truth and forces the viewer to bear witness.

  • Shaun Leisher: Guernica

This play is a mindf**ck in the best possible way. It looks at the absurdities of war by using tropes from theatre of the absurd while also exploring ideas such as the complicity of the “innocent” in war and what happens after “victory” especially to those in minority groups. Would love to see this play fully realized soon. The imagery in the stage directions is so visceral and every line got me more and more anxious to see skilled actors take on these roles.

  • Shaun Leisher: Narrated: Saved

I loved how poetic and ritualistic this play was. It seem like it would be a great challenge for an actor and creative team. I also really appreciated how honest it was when it comes to mental illness and how symptoms and feelings are so specific to each person. I also loved how the ending was filled with hope and not just despair like so many other plays I've read about this issue.

  • Shaun Leisher: Blue Moon

A play that takes full advantage of theatrical sound and creates a haunting scene. The writer perfectly creates a tone of dread up until the last moment. This is a piece that will push actors, designers and directors to the limits of their creativity.

  • Shaun Leisher: Now More Than Ever

THIS IS EVERYTHING THAT GOES THROUGH MY HEAD WHEN I THINK OF ARTIVISM!!! Even using that term "artivism" makes me feel icky sometimes but I do know it matters. This play does a good job expressing that while also giving voice to the doubts. All in 10 minutes, too!!!

  • Shaun Leisher: Neil and Shelly Try Something

A really tight short play that's hysterical and really moving. I have read plays before that look at the navigation of sexual relationships and consent but none that have this much humor and heart.

  • This play genuinely surprised me in such a short amount of time. A true snapshot into the life of this couple that also works brilliantly as a memory play.

  • Shaun Leisher: Lunar Colony 1A117+, 1500 Earth Time

I love plays like this that remind us that even in the dystopic future we will still be bitching about things and have crushes. A great 10 minute play with really strong characters.

  • Shaun Leisher: ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?

This play is a pure fever dream. The conversations here will make your head spin and grip so hard at your heart. This is a play about being happy and thinking about being happy makes more and more miserable and lost. It's a riff on Chekhov yet entirely new and a big middle finger to Chekhov. It's a play that is going to stick with me for a long time.
