Maybe cellphones should have breathalyzers on them to stop us from drunk-dialing, but John doesn't have that, so he dials and regrets and dials and regrets, and we get to experience it all with him in the cringe-worthy cycle of too much, too late. Funny, yet sad.

If your first date ends up in a B&D dungeon, you had better have a good sense of humor, which this play does. It's the age old first date questions that we've all grappled with, but in this setting take on new meaning and heightened doubts.

Enjoyable to read a humorous take on the struggle we all face in one form or another. Which voice will you listen to?

When I see a well-written 10-minute play like M-I-S-S, I always want to spend more time with the characters. Brianna Barrett connects with a big relationship issue, bringing up the questions that may take these two a long time to answer. The only thing we know for certain is they love each other. Loved the whimsical humor in the middle of the big issue conflict.

When you think of a comedy about ghosts, you don't imagine you'll end up saddened and emotionally attached to the ghosts, but thanks to Mora V. Harris' witty banter and deep exploration of life, love and death, you do. And then you realize that this is not a play about ghosts, but an often funny, sometimes sad look at how we relate to each other, to the world, and to ourselves.

Asher Wyndham creates a wonderfully complex backstory for each of his characters, then teases us with how they got here. We have so many questions about their lives, but our questions don't matter right now. The relationship between these two is what matters, and we ride along to find out if it can be saved. There is so much left unsaid, but Becky and Kyle understand much more about each other than they are capable of expressing with their words. A short play that leaves the reader wanting more, while still feeling satisfied.

Delightful, fun and playful, Moon in a Barrel forces us to relax and enjoy some old-time silliness for a spell. I'm sad I missed the reading of this one at the Midwest Dramatists Conference.

What a difference 30 years makes. Can you easily walk away from your grade school crush? In Landing Place, we see the interaction of two grade schoolers, then meet up with them again 30 years later. How are they different? How are they the same? How has their relationship changed? Who has the power now? Goldner does an excellent job of exploring these questions. To see these adults interact after seeing them interact as children is fascinating. When one person remembers the history better than the other, it adds another juicy dynamic to the interaction.

This well-written full-length is a reminder of the sad state of affairs in our society, where people allow themselves to get screwed over, where they take less than they deserve because it's better than nothing, and where honesty and integrity always fall victim to greed and fear. Compelling and entertaining.

There is a constant struggle for power on every page of this script, and I could not get enough of this battle to see who would come out on top.
