  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: Old Fashioned Girl

Very wholesome. Very funny - the comedy comes from the sincerity of the piece. I could read a whole lot more about Penny Dryer, her love of books, and her blind date adventures!

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: Batman Vs. The Joker at the Laundromat

Skip all other iterations of the caped crusader - the brooding bat has never been captured in a more flawless and hilarious way than Hageman has written him in this fun parody. A really funny show even if you don't know much about Batman, but especially gut-wrenching if you do. Hageman twists and plays with the characters past in a brilliant way.

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: Madame Misty

The classic fortune teller scam is kicked up a notch in "Madame Misty" and sprinkled with fast-paced, flavorful, and funny dialogue from Jacobs. If you enjoy quick comedy and a little bit of absurdity, like I do, then I recommend you check this show out - it would be perfect for an evening of shorts!

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: 38 Cookies, 39 Reasons [a monologue]

Though seemingly simple with its formula, this play is incredibly creative. It’s thirty-nine quick flash emotion invoking photographs. Truthful in each and every line this play is as impactful as it is impressive! Read and produce it, for the love of Pete.

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: Matthew Weaver Meets the Goddess Aphrodite

I was expecting a comedic thrill-ride when I read the title - that was delivered. I was not so much expecting to feel such a full-range of emotions (I should have, of course. Weaver's genius when it comes to writing is a certainty). It's funny, it makes you reflect on love and life, and it's full of Weaver's trademarked charming dialogue. A whole-hearted and honest play that would be a delight to see on stage.

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: Adapt or Die (10 min.)

I have the warmest spot in my heart for birds so I was super excited to read this. Rice has created a charming and hilarious play about two bowerbirds (who exchange some irresistibly fun dialogue) and the zany adventure that is their mating ritual. This would be an absolute spectacle to see on stage!!!

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: Perfect Number

You know a play is going to be something special when it features a "charming and gentle octopus" and this play delivers. A great dive into the challenging topics of homelessness and mental health. Easily accessible to all and packs quite the (octopus) punch.

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: LA 8 AM (a ten minute play)

It's Levine, you know it's going to be good. That being said, I really really love this play. I'm so happy I stumbled upon it again. I originally discovered it in a playwriting class (all the greats study Levine, come on!) and was in awe of it's unique depiction of a couples quarrel and the stinging end that comes with it. Do yourself a favor and read/produce this.

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: estragon's boot

Weird, wild, and perfectly puppet-tastic. The absurdity of office life is wonderfully highlighted by Mooney. Full of some fun nonsensical nonsense that takes the well-known workplace culture and molds and stretches it askew as if it were taffy.

  • Ryan M. Bultrowicz: The Godfather of the Monkey Bars

When mafia movies meet recess you get this wonderfully comedic and original piece from Hageman. This show plays with mafia tropes in a really fun way and it would be a real blast to see it performed. Educators - keep this one on your list!
