  • RABIOSA: An Ode to Hurricane Maria
    10 Apr. 2018
A brilliant piece that really captures the personal and the communal loss. These storms, they take more than your trees, your homes-- it takes your smiles. There is so much energy and life and incredible nerve to be had here! It would be such an honor to play Rocio! Such a strong willed character with so much history and life! A page into this play and I felt as though I'd known her for years. Wonderful magic exists here-- read it immediately.
  • Mother's Milk
    10 Apr. 2018
When the land that bore you can no longer safely be your home-- when the land you must call home cannot guarantee your safety-- Diaz-Marcano's MOTHER'S MILK covers hard ground in this 10-minute piece. It shows us our not-so-distant past and the future we hope to have. Lovely language throughout, fleshed out characters that must make big choices that have hard consequences, and a plot that is unique to say the least. Nelson beautifully reminds us all that when we cannot return home we can still carry it with us.
  • My Body
    8 Apr. 2018
The tables have been turned in this tight 10-minute play where women make the rules. A relevant piece that is charming, unsettling, and has great roles for two actors up to the challenge. MY BODY gives a glimpse at an ideal world-- but for whom and at what cost?
  • The States
    8 Apr. 2018
The States is one of the more visceral plays I've read. Hill has done it again with this provocative piece filled with blood, sweat, and anger-- the push and the pull of abuse is perfectly displayed in its ugliest and truest form. Highly recommend!
  • Pretty For An Asian Girl
    8 Apr. 2018
POWERFUL. A fantastic piece for a high school student looking for a monologue that plays to a variety of levels. Heartbreak, excitement, disappointment, love, embarrassment, doubt-- Lucy Wang covers it all. Mabel is so powerful and I love stories like this where young women pick up their agency, hold it to their chest, and say "this is mine. this is more important than a boy". A truly excellent piece.
  • BATH TIME (monologue)
    8 Apr. 2018
It is far too early for me to be holding back tears! I love it when I dive into a play with only the title to guide me. BATH TIME is a very sweet monologue sharing the tenderness, compassion, and the unconditional love between a mother and her daughter.
  • Manticore!: A One-Minute Play
    7 Apr. 2018
You mess with the manticore and you gon-get-BIT! I love it when I get a 1-minute play that delivers a juicy topic in a fun way. A really accessible play for anyone who somehow still doesn't understand what women are fighting for. This would be a great 1-minute for any festival and especially fun for designers looking for a unique challenge.
  • Take
    7 Apr. 2018
The way these two characters speak to each other is so sharp and almost musical. I love that these two women speak to each other with roughness-- there's nothing flowery about it which is rare for a piece designed for women. There is so much in this piece to uncover-- so much unsaid between the repetition and the subtly of the language.
  • The Ring
    7 Apr. 2018
MY HEART. This piece is so tragically beautiful-- and that last line--OOPH. Hit me right in the chest. A great short piece for any theatre doing short works about Gun Control or working with Protest Plays.
  • Fabulous Monsters Deep Cuts monologues
    7 Apr. 2018
Bad-ass monologues for bad-ass women. You get cut a piece of life at it's rawest; the hard truth and the big pill to swallow. Great for a mature female looking for audition pieces.
