  • Emily Hageman: A Blank Stage

A simple concept made all the more beautiful by the stage directions. Yes, we all wish we could join them--because these are beautiful, important things that they are doing. A lovely, concise, excellent one minute play.

  • Emily Hageman: Whisper Music - Ten Minute Play

Chilling and exciting, this play contains a great role for an older female characters. It's quite a twist--I have to say, I didn't see it coming! Another great, gripping piece from Adams!

  • Emily Hageman: Veterans of Community Theatre

Hilarious, fast, and funny, who hasn't met people like this?? Community theater people are a unique breed unto themselves, and are immediately recognizable and lovingly spoofed in this hilarious short play. The jokes fly fast, and the end is a delight. Check it out!

  • Emily Hageman: CATALYST

These two characters have so much more in common than they think they do, and it's beautiful to see them interact. A great piece with two very meaty roles for actors.

  • Emily Hageman: Hero Zero (TYA)

Beautiful, sweet, lovingly crafted, this is a great play for children of all ages. I love the way Simon writes so tenderly about grief in a way that would help young people understand. I also love the beautiful theme of being a hero--and how heroes are those with love their hearts. Wonderful work.

  • Emily Hageman: Bartleby & Bess (5-10 minute play)

Beautiful and powerful. Speckman deftly creates two characters that we fully know and understand in only two minutes. It's tender and lovely and it's a celebration of how people can be different, and they can still love each other. Wonderful.

  • Emily Hageman: I mean...meow?

This is absolutely hilarious, and I love the end. A laugh out loud short comedy that is too true. Our poor pets must be so anguished and confused!

  • Emily Hageman: Love, Sometimes

There's an entire world in this play, one that we don't see, but that we can feel. The characters interact with such ease with each other--and they are compelling and frustrating and adorable and you want them to get together, but you'll be livid if they do. It's a wonderful slice of life, and a great quick read.

  • Emily Hageman: The Bookstore

O'Grady is such a delightful master at personification. These characters are so funny and the dialogue is so fast and witty. I absolutely adore the tongue-in-cheek humor. O'Grady's plays are fantastic--if you've never read one, start here, and you won't want to stop!

  • Emily Hageman: Making Friends Remotely

Funny, honest, and smart as all of Osmundsen's pieces are. I love how he is unafraid to dig into the good, the bad, and the crappy. Nobody is perfect, nobody is a hero--and people are just people, even when they are faced with a dystopian landscape. A great piece that paints a future I don't want at all, but one that might happen.
