  • BRAYCEE BERMLOW: A MONOLOGUE
    18 Oct. 2022
Braycee Bermlow is a fascinating character. She's a trucker and Asher Wyndham's dialogue captures so many aspects of her character in this powerful and touching monologue. She's being questioned by a cop, and we quickly learn a great deal about who she is, her life and her family in this very compelling piece.
  • The Rotary Phone
    7 Sep. 2022
It's so rare to discover a play that is funny, smart, and touching. Well, Andrew Martineau's The Rotary Phone is all that and in 10 MINUTES! When three cousins discover a rotary phone that once belonged to their great grandmother, they open a world where the past collides with the present, and we are treated to some very clever observations and funny one liners. The characters are delightful. And so is this play. Recommended.
  • Ellida
    1 Sep. 2022
Ellida is a beautiful, dreamlike monologue by Nora Louise Syran, inspired by Henrik Ibsen's "The Lady From the Sea". A young woman is treading water at a sailing camp. She’s tired and wants to just give up. We get to experience her torturous inner battle as she desperately tries not to give up.
    . Beautifully written. Recommended!

Discovery 40% Proof is a lot of fun! This short play is about alcohol and it’s return to earth after being gone for 3000 years! Rachel Feeny-Williams creates a world of fun characters that examine this phenomenon in playful detail. Read it, you’ll have such a good time. ---Cheers!
  • Blinded
    26 Aug. 2022
Ross Tedford Kendall’s Blinded is a fascinating play. It took me to a place I know little about academia- and disability. The relationships between the characters are clear and convincing, and the dialogue totally believable. And the surprise in the play is well earned. I enjoyed it so much I reread it several times. Highly recommended!
  • The United Plays of America - Nebraska
    6 Aug. 2022
The States Collection - Nebraska by Claudia Haas is a trip you’ve never taken before- ever! It’s hysterically funny, bizarre and original. This short play is about corn, and it’s impact on one of the characters--- and that’s all I’m going to tell you. Just READ IT!
  • Fake News?
    5 Aug. 2022
It took me a few moments to get where Rachel Feeny Williams was going with her terrific short play, Fake News?. But once I did I was mesmerised by what she was saying and how she was presenting it. The play is powerfully pertinent! Bravo!

John Mabey’s beautiful short play is deeply touching. The two characters, an older woman who is selling her home and the young man interested in buying it, constantly surprise us with what they reveal to each other and us. We also learn fascinating things about the house itself. Just when you think you know where the play is going, Mabey takes us down a different road filled with yet another surprise.
