  • Lee R. Lawing: And Frank Sinatra Singing in a Fig Tree - Part of the Anthology "Have Yourself a Twisty Little Christmas"

My favorite version of The Twelve Days of Christmas has always been Andy Williams version where the gifts were updated to very real things at time. I know have a new favorite version thanks for Claudia Haas. Persistence is something that I appreciate in anyone and especially in Luigi! To never give up on your dreams of love is a great gift for any of us to receive.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Man's Next Friend

So many times we have those thoughts like Daisy about our purpose and our reason for being on this earth. With technology becoming advanced at light speed, this futuristic piece is not so far off the mark of being our reality, and even though it is is set in the future, the lesson that Daisy learns in the end is good for us now as it will be in the future--sometimes it's just the simplest of connections regardless the form that can bring you to your understanding for being.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Ancient Wisdom of the Shoebill Stork

We all have those moments in our life where we feel like we should be gaining insight to the world around us or the wisdom that nature and all of her beauty should be imparting to us if we truly want it. Sometimes that comes just by doing a little dance and laughing at silly knock-knock joke because joy should never be so hard to obtain if we could just shut down the questioning mind and just dance for joy.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Adrift

I love the rabbit hole that this group of friends do down when they discover the unconscious girl in the boat. Is she a mermaid or alien? Or on the run from gangsters. Our imaginations have certainly grown with the influx of streaming data at our fingertips and eyes, but what I love most about this mysterious and comedic play is the how they all come together in the end to solve the puzzle, even a couple who have recently split up, proving that friendship is one of the strongest bonds out there.

  • Lee R. Lawing: A Blessing

The play definitely touched a chord in me about a parents' beliefs and a child's own which may not align with the parents in the slightest and this was so true for me growing up. The beautiful thing about this play is the path that is taken by Carly and Lil in finding that understanding that a blessing doesn't have to be anything but that, and a mother's love for her daughter something that is always and will forever be regardless of that daughter's feelings about the unknown are vastly different.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Night in Tunisia (a monologue)

A nightmare scenario that could be oh so real even here in our own country. I love the tension that builds as Casper talks to their partner about the new life that the'll be leading as essentially outlaw after their citizanship is revoked for being gay. For me, this used to sound so far-fetched that this could be a possibility but after jan 6 anything that sounds like a nightmare has become just a possibility that it could happen and just like Casper and their partner, wiped away from existence with the stroke of a pen.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Proud Of My Name

Such a beautiful play about pride and the about the privileged lives some others live in this world, but not Beneatha just because she's black and everyone who realizes that privilege is a real thing gets the difference of if in her situation she had been white. Would those cops have treated her so poorly. Powerful monologue and such a call-out to so many of the wrongs in the world that should be fixed.

  • Lee R. Lawing: "Eight Aunt Marys"

This monologue says so much about the way of the world in it's short time span that you feel you've absorb so much more wisdom about the wrongs of the world that Eileen has faced and yet overcome to create her successful business. A world that treated women like second class citizens that never gave them credit they deserved (still learning to do better on that one) and how much just a word of praise can mean to a child who never received any. Beautiful monologue.

  • Lee R. Lawing: QUICKSAND, a one person play

Funny monologue and saw this beautifully performed on Back Porch Theater by Miranda Jonte. it says so much about so many things and situations in the brief time, and you feel so much for the Val in the situation she finds her self stuck in.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Fan C Cuts

We all grew up thinking we should be the princess or prince and sometimes there are those of us who who don't want to see the spotlight or have any attention drawn to us and are content with just the lot we have drawn in life or on the stage. Fan C Cuts will make you laugh and rethink the classic fairy tales in a way that is so refreshing.
