  • Lee R. Lawing: A SEMICOLON IS... (Monologue)

A very sobering monologue by Cavanaugh reminding us once again of the fragility of the world and people around us. You never know the true pain someone is caring and you never when you might be able to make a difference during each and every day of your life until the very end.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Coming Clean (A 10 minute play)

Addictions are never fun in real life, but how could they not be when a boy and girl sex addict meet by chance in the laundry in their condo building. Arsenault's funny play sets the scene very well and you are chuckling throughout with the Freudian slips that Ted is making. His uncomfortableness and Vicki's goading him on during the entire play would be comedy gold to see on stage.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Sock Puppet Fetish Noir

Another funny play by McBurnette-Andronicos with a twist that I never saw coming. Lots of laughs and an ending that is spot on!

  • Lee R. Lawing: Dr. Wu Has Been Eliminated

A farce is a farce is a farce is farce, but in the hands of Busser, it turns into a gold mine of hilarity and mirth. Henchmen have never been funnier. Another gem from a playwright that's made me laugh on many occasions.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Two Yards of Satan

Right from the start, Two Yards of Satan grabs you and doesn't let go! It's funny and just a delight to read and would be so fun to see staged!! I always love seeing figures like Jesus and Satan humanized on the stage. Too bad, I didn't learn about these Biblical figures from reading McBurnette-Andronicos delightful romp, I may still be a religious man.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Field Guide to the North American Osprey

Grief is such a monster. It can do things to a person that you don't even realizing it's done and months or years later, you have that moment where you can finally begin to build again. Cole's amazing poem/play of one couple's journey is as fascinating as it is clever. The interchanging world of them and the birds will haunt me for a long time!

  • Lee R. Lawing: Barbarian

Dreams are one thing, nightmares another and our nightmares can cripple or us or make us stronger. Prillaman's beautiful play is about one such nightmare and what will become of Edmond? Will he face his fears and train to beat them, or grow weak behind a force that doesn't even come to his aid when needed. This play had so much for me. Horror, Gothic atmosphere and a villain worth the best of any Grimm's Fairy tale and a young boy that sees his beliefs topple in one second only to (hopefully) gain strength by choosing a new path.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Coffee House Boos

How many times have any of us wanted to believe our house is haunted or visit a place that is. Coffee House Boos is an unusual love story and shows the world a way to be able to love the spirit of someone as much as the person and Floyd-Priskorn does this with witty dialogue and a fast-paced plot. Introduce yourself to this writer's work! You won't be sorry.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Rebooted

I love this play and am so glad it was my play of the day!! I connected with Martha right from the start and boy howdy, when she talked about hating Betty Crocker she is my spirit animal for sure. Life gives us so many damn rules to follow, that we think we have to follow and Rebooted speaks for all of us that don't want t follow the rules or play the bridge hand that we are dealt. Dickson has given us a monologue for the ages and it will be as timeless tomorrow as it was today.

  • Lee R. Lawing: THE SCANLON ROAD (from the AN IRISH HEART COLLECTION)

Americans always seem to be in a hurry for things, and also a little rude about it to boot, especially when they aren't in America, but Lermond provides redemption for Rick at just the right moment in this charming five minute play about getting lost and finding the right path.
