  • The Unlawful Abusive Patriarchal Possessive Entitlement of the Motown Sound By Way of the Surrogate Collusion of the Jackson Five (Or, I Want You Back)

Such a great play which toys with your emotions and so funny to boot and I love surprises and I liked to read plays that truly do that. I usually don't try to figure them out so that's one plus, but this one surpassed me. Malone takes a basic plot line and throws in such humor and witty lines that I want to take apart all the other classic songs which are filled with such toxicity and cleanse the world of their popularity!! Read this play! Produce this play! This is one that would stand the test of time!

  • Two Socks Discuss Loss
    29 Apr. 2021
What an incredible play about loss, grief and not seeing the world as black and white, but as black and blue.
McGough gives us a lesson on getting past grief and moving on, but beyond that is a deeper lesson for me that speaks to the world as whole, being able to put their differences aside and to start to love once again and help the world breath a little easier. Thanks for this play!
  • The Nutcracker's Sweet!
    28 Apr. 2021
What a gem of a sequel to the Nutcracker full of warnings of the importance of treating your home as if it's a treasure, with a little of "Save the Planet" as well. Crackling with witty dialogue and great action, this Sweet should become a staple at theaters everywhere during the holiday season because we could all use a little Raid during this festive time to off-set all the gooiness that the day traditionally provides.
  • I, Marshmallow

Very funny play by Weaver who always delights one with his work. A new take on the camping experience form the other side of things. I now wonder what all the other objects used during the camping experience would have to say.

Welcome to the new marriage that's been working for so many for so long---just not talked about of course. We expect our marriage partners to be everything and everybody. Most times they're not and sex is just one of those many things that make up a marriage but doesn't have to define it. So glad I read this happy and funny play today!
  • Love Gone Viral

What a delightful comedy by J. Lois Diamond full of her sharp insights and sharper wit. This is what the new date-night looks for so many of us these days and we are all so worried about catching Covid, but even in that midst of that true worry, some instincts can rise to the top like burst of champagne and that is what Diamond gives us in this sweet ode to passion, love and Mylanta!

Pitch Perfect with fucking attitude! Well done!
  • Hamlet (Variorum)
    15 Apr. 2021
Hamlet is always a a great play to come back to during your life. It is the most well-known of course, but there is so much that people can recite by heart or even just a word or two can evoke great memoires of the play or having read or seen it. I've never read "Bad Quarto" of 1603 and Malone has given me a reason to do this. It is one full of surprises and I'm so glad that I discovered something new and also loved it as much I did. Add it to your library to read.
  • The Quarantine

Wow. This is such a powerful play that it feels like you've gone through an entire full length and the emotion so honesty earned. This past year has been so hard on everyone, but so much so on those who can't even be with their loved ones at the time of death. This happened for my aunt and uncle and it breaks my heart, this beautiful play that sums up those actions so very well.

We take so much from those early days with us through life. This is a funny take on just such a thing and the pain of being "It" if you can't ever pass that on. Funny, smart and just right.
