  • MEET CUTE MEDIUM
    8 Dec. 2020
Well, I'm down for all things metaphysical. I thoroughly enjoyed this play, which reads just as cute as the title. Playwright Donna Warfield mines the zoom dating field for all it's worth in this relatable and very producible comedy!
  • Viva - A Monologue
    7 Dec. 2020
Viva la difference - and Viva the beautifully crafted character of Joni, in the expert hands of playwright Robert Weibezahl. A beautiful, complex monologue about the sum of a woman's life. A detailed and moving portrait of a life fully lived.
  • Fanny Brice
    7 Dec. 2020
And that's how the cheese ball bounces - or doesn't - in this imaginative, creative monologue by master storyteller D. Lee Miller. A Brice fanatic, I devoured this piece in the time it takes to say 'bissel'. FANNY BRICE is fresh take on a part of Fanny's life that really isn't covered in the musical or the movies, an all too relatable pain we can all empathize with when a relationship ends. Kudos to D. Lee Miller for bringing Fanny Brice to life so vividly.
  • Tap Test - (covid zoom play)

  • The Long Haul (monologue)
    7 Dec. 2020
There's a million stories in the Big Apple, and THE LONG HAUL is a very affecting one. As someone who rode the NYC subway for many years, I relate so much to to this big, beautiful, heartwrenching monologue. Playwright D. Lee Miller expertly and compassionately writes a complex, funny, and touching character who struggles with surviving Covid-19 and the striving for connection we all feel as humans. Beautiful work - please read and produce it!
  • PUT THINGS DOWN
    7 Dec. 2020
Marj O'Neill-Butler is such a master at elevating the ordinary into the theatrical. I loved this short, compelling play about loss, and the family ties that can bind- or blind- us. Smart, compassionate writing and fully developed characters make PUT THINGS DOWN a play you won't want to put down.
  • NEXT STOP, BROADWAY!
    7 Dec. 2020
I love this play so much, I want to marry it! A hysterical backstage valentine for theatre people, and really any people who've had to deal with the clueless, the determined divas, and office dynamics. Three cheers to playwright Marj O'Neill-Butler for writing something so delicious. A treat for actors and audience alike. You'll have a 'dog'-gedly good time with NEXT STOP, BROADWAY!
  • BABY FEVER - a short play
    7 Dec. 2020
A very funny play about the dark side of the moon - er- motherhood. So many laugh-out-loud lines and a very relatable situation for anyone who's ever raised or taken care of a child. Wonderful roles for two adult womxn actors. I'm so glad this play is getting produced - "run like the wind" to see it if it's nearby!
  • Inn and Out
    7 Dec. 2020
I remember so clearly as a child, wrapped up in an afghan on the couch, watching black and white detective movies on Channels 9 and 11 in the New York City area. Playwright Bruce Karp brings that all back in his atmospheric, chilling one-act play INN and OUT. A clever and innovative exploration of desire, intrigue, and detective work that will have you turning the pages. It would be great fun to see this on a stage!
  • Carefully Taught
    7 Dec. 2020
One of the skills I admire most in Bruce Karp's writing is his inventiveness, and his spot-on titles. CAREFULLY TAUGHT is no exception. By taking a video from long ago headlines, about two young boys, one black, one white, Playwright Karp explores societal mores and hidden desires in an intriguing manner. Characters Shaquille, Abby and Caleb will have you examining your own prejudices and history. CAREFULLY TAUGHT is a timely piece that is so deserving of further development.
