This play is a tidal wave. Devra is a character we can lose ourselves in and RUST is a play with high stakes that keeps revving up. An exploration of what it means to be asked to return to a world you protected that isn't able to protect you. A fascinating play.

Oof. This play. Daring and truthful and LOUD AND UNASHAMED. And hard. But necessary. I loved it, please read!
  • Everything That's Beautiful
    10 Apr. 2018
This play is effortless. Elyzabeth does such a wonderful job of writing a play that moves so fluidly. The story- like the mermaid- pulls you in. Theatrical and lovely, EVERYTHING THAT'S BEAUTIFUL is beautiful. And heart-wrenching. And important. Please read and produce!

Oh this play stole my heart. At times so funny I thought I was going to pee and then without a warning a moment so perfectly placed the story and the stakes just lock in and the play just makes sense in a whole new way. I loved it. This play also has some gems of dialogue, and 'I'd hate to taint your knobs' is going to stick with me for a while. Wonderful work.

I love the way Callan's brain works and I love this play. GIRL BECOMES BONE is an expansive and intimate look at a world and its promise left behind. Callan writes characters you invest yourself in, and the language of this play is so lovely and specific and poetic. I love it, and I hope it's read and produced widely.

  • La Claque
    1 Apr. 2018
Oh Peter. Your work is marvelous marvelous marvelous. What a beautiful assortment of thoughts La Claque is. And all with a very specific vision, and purpose, and melody- you don't need to hear the music to understand this work. This story crawled into me and rested and I need to hear it/ see it. continue to artistically absorb it. An artist to watch and an artist to celebrate, please produce this if only so I can be in the room with the characters and the music.
  • Two Degrees

Tira is one of my favorite playwrights. She has a way of writing humanity into every moment and every character, but she also continues to write important, politically informed, and relevant works for the world we are living in right now. TWO DEGREES is a desperately important play with a strong narrative and moments of beautiful theatricality. I would love to see this play produced again and again!
  • Making Charlie or A Girl Named Charlie

welcome to powerhouse playwrights island population rachel flippin bykowski. I LOVE this play and I love Charlie and Charlie's individual drive to play the shit out of some softball and frankly who cannot relate to hiding your gender/what even is gender? so that you can be a part of a team and also be in love with your own ferocity and Charlie and Rachel are both ferocious. I would really like to see more productions of Rachel's work.

We need to talk about Catia's completely UNIQUE theatrical voice. She's a young writer to watch- and watch closely. I've never read anyone who strings words and ideas together quite like Catia, and that excites me so much. She makes me think in a theatrical vein I didn't know existed. DISINSEMINATION is a delightfully dark new play, and I encourage you to get to know this play, and this playwright.
