Ugh. Charlotte's writing is beautiful. She's also such an amazing human, and the kind of artist you definitely want to get in the room with. I love the way she organizes her thoughts on page, and how she brings together the most unlikely themes and ingredients and yet works them together in a way that makes it seems as if they were made for each other. This play is lovely. Read it please.

PLUTO is a play we need to teach to all of our theater students. The resulting conversation is vital to growing a community of young adults eager to engage in difficult and often taboo subjects. This play is beautiful. It's layered, but not too complex, and above all, it's not an issue play. It's a play about so many things, but most importantly it's a play that will get an audience talking- whether an audience of one student in front of a screen, or an entire theater. This play is IMPORTANT.

I love this play. I love how well balanced it is, and how immediate and intimate the story feels to an audience. From Chris and Adiel's moments of childhood love and innocence, to Pika crashing into their storyline- this is a play with multiple hearts. It's alive, and vicious, and beautiful. I think Hansol's work is magnificent and I would like to see theater companies produce more of her work. Anywhere, everywhere, we need these plays we need this art.

Wow, L was kind enough to invite me to a first read through of this vibrant new play, and I am in big time love. L's ability to weave such complex narratives and infuse them with passion and urgency is what makes her one of my favorite new playwrights. I'm so excited to see where this piece goes, and I highly recommend it.

I LOVE this quiet little play. It's so brave, and powerful, and every moment so well crafted and precise. This is a play that demands an audience, and will spark important conversations for years to come. I would love to see it produced all over the country. Here is a play that is insanely necessary for our here and now. I love it.
  • Minotaurs. Toreros.

Oh wow Kato McNickle has a way of writing longing that makes me feel like that moment in the little mermaid when ursula steals ariel's voice, only the longing is that moment when we see the voice as an object being taken away. Kato's plays have a feeling of being in-between but on purpose. Everything in transition, but beautiful, but also desperate. the boy minotaur is everything my heart longs for. I want to live in this play.

Oh Emily. This new play is magical and lyrical in all the ways in which your work shines so wonderfully. Your work is a MOOD, and the best kind. the kind that lives around an audience like the ocean. You cradle everyone in your writing, and even when it's growing dark, we know you'll get us home safe. Beautiful work.

I saw this play as it was being developed by the Women's Project, and it has remained with me since then. This is a beautiful story, and Monet has a gift for writing characters you launch yourself into the moment they speak. In addition, she writes so many layers into her work it's as if the play is living and breathing all around you- and ultimately- isn't that what we want? I love this play, and I would love to see it produced (again and again!)
