  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: THE OTHER MAN'S GRASS IS MONDEGREEN-ER, a 10-minute absurdist comedy

We've all misheard song lyrics. With this short play, Ms Rose has taken these "mondegreen's" to a high art form. My favorite was "Hit me with your pet shark". You may not get all the references, depending on your age and experience, but her glossary will assist. A really fun and abstract piece.

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: THE DATING POOL, a one-act play for 5 women plus optional additional characters

If your younger selves could talk to your older self before making some pretty bad choices in life, this would be how. This short play gathers all 'herselves" in a fun and enlightening way. Talk about stop the world I want to get off! This is a very different take on moving forward in life.

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: THE FERRIS WHEEL - a short play for both stage and radio

Whoa, a life time in ten minutes and there's a real twist/surprise at the end. I felt I knew these people. This is an interesting short play that should have a long run in festivals.

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: For the Soul

I was disgusted with these two men from the start. DC Castro has a way of making you dislike his characters. Each is individually loathsome and you hold your breath until the end of the piece. There is a sound effect that occurs during the play and you're not sure what it is until the end when you know for sure.
    Powerful short piece.

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: Angel Flight

This is a journey that no one wants to take. Joe Swenson takes us on a full ride and finally lands us with a very calming twist. This is a very different and smart take on grieving.

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: Transferring Kyle

This short play is a fantastic and surreal look at life as it is lived by Kyle, a non-starter. What a clever play...it made me sit up and want to get busy. No wonder it has had so many productions!

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: A Slice of Chhena Poda

What a delightful slice of life. I love the mother who is so with it in the ways of her son. Not so much with her cooking howevr. This is a swell two-hander to play a mother and son duo.

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: In Transit (10 min.)

Having visited several homes like the one in this lovely short play, I can understand the drive to "take a train" and leave. It's a simple but powerful love story.

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: Are You Comfortable?

This likable young woman brings us along throughout this devastating monologue. And then the ending...good God I was right there with her. A powerful piece for a young person.

  • Marj O'Neill-Butler: Fork and Spoon (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

People do make good impressions this quickly and the man and woman in this short play are no exceptions. The jokes are fun and funny and the gentleness between the two is charming. It's as sweet as the pancakes she is about to order.
