Wow. I can understand why this play has had several productions around the country. An original story concept with emotionally-satisfying revelations, remembrances, and surprises. During the play I smiled a lot, and at the end I was happy for these characters...a genuine smile...and the play made me think...late in life, it's not all over, even when you've lost most of your classmates/loved ones; there's always an invitation to accept a new friendship, maybe more...

This play's structure - its conceit- made me think about how my consciousness works just like Cassidy's. Read the play, and you may identify with her. The playwright wonderfully theatricalizes Cassidy's thought-process; it becomes a hilarious spectacle. If I was producing an evening of funny plays, this play would certainly be one of them. Bravo.

Wonderfully zany, with unforgettable quirky characters, with ridiculous stage pictures. Many times it's HA-HA funny. The meta-theatrics create this other-worldliness. The story of Ida and her suitor Lee is sweet, tender, and beautiful. Almost on every page, every minute there's a new surprise, a wonderful phrase, an unforgettable image. Keep this playwright on your radar. She's on my radar. Reading her play was kind of like getting a ticket to an imaginarium of awesomeness. This play would be a fabulous challenge for a designer.

A necessary play about marriage between a soldier and his wife. It is painful to see these two struggle being intimate. Heartbreaking, compelling, honest, believable. I would love to see this produced. Memorable.

Consider producing Guyton's powerful prison monologues including this one and "Say Hi" and "January's Alibi." The woman in "Hate Male" drips from the mouth with Komodo-dragon-venom. Her hate for the other sex is relentless. But the more you listen, you start caring, and you stop judging. The monologue is vulgar and profane, but at the same time poetic and kind of existential. Another great portrait of a tortured soul. A great challenge for a female actor.

A gripping monologue about a woman accused of a heinous crime - the murder of her boy's father. I was intrigued to find out what happened the night of the murder - specifically, who fired the fatal shot - but I was also interested in learning more about this woman -- her life, her personality -- through her digressions. When she talks about meat and vegetables, it's illuminating.

A winning play that would showcase a female actor's physicality and athleticism. While Julie instructs her audience via YouTube on the virtues of being mascot, we learn the difficulty the young woman or anyone in her position would have keeping up the school spirit game after game after game. This short play is a lot of fun, but it also makes you think about weight of any 'public' mask that some people wear throughout life.

A smart sci-fi play that tackles gender politics and sexism. Is Antonia a bad mother for wanting to leave her daughter and husband for Mars? Her counterattacks may force you to question your own views on gender. Are you sexist for not agreeing with her? I like how this play makes you think long and hard after reading it. I want her to go to Mars...and I was surprised that I agreed with her.
