  • Asher Wyndham: Overeater: A Monologue

    Funny, uplifting, honest.
We need to hear this kind of struggle.
If you're producing a festival on body image, consider this.

  • Asher Wyndham: Always Plenty of Light at the Starlight All Night Diner

This play made me think about what it means to be *safe*.
And feeling safe with friends that are kind of like a new family.
And creating that safe place kind of a way to escape whatever sucks in life, whatever doesn't make sense, whatever is difficult or confusing or cruel.
    It's a beautiful play because it's hopeful.
It's a Queer time-travel comedy served with pie and coffee, with a lot of heart and imagination.
This would be a great play for designers - sound, media, prop, lighting.

  • Asher Wyndham: MARVEL-OUS MONICA; IN WHICH MONICA LEWINSKY IS A SUPERHERO HELL-BENT ON REVENGE

With the pace of a comic book, incorporating flashbacks and present-day TED talk, this feminist play packs a punch. It humanizes Monica Lewinsky in a way that was illuminating. While doing that, this play confronts our slut-shaming arena of politics and entertainment. This really makes us think about the female narrative and how those in control in DC and beyond shape it, twist it, distort it so that the woman becomes not a survivor of abuse but the shameful one, the slut. Makes you think about the struggle traumatized women have trying to be understood. Like feminist theatre? Then download!

  • Asher Wyndham: Uncomfortable [a 1-minute monologue]

This solo short play is the best kind of theatre -- makes us uncomfortable. It forces us to question our relationship to the world and strangers, to question our lack of empathy and understanding and action on issues and problems. What are you going to do about it?
Our noise, our traffic silences the voices of the marginalized like those homeless man in this play.
This would be a great play for a sound designer.

  • Asher Wyndham: THE SENTENCE—or Donald Trump’s Crimes Against the English Language (10-min.play)

Meth has done a fine job showcasing the narcissistic and psychotic personality of President Trump. His disregard for truth and morality and his ignorance of proper speech are on display in complete contrast to the great men of the past, those kings of American and world political history. It's ridiculously funny from beginning to end, but in the end I was left with nothing but disgust.
This is the kind of the play that can encourage an audience to get out to vote.

  • Asher Wyndham: Persephone

Do ghosts mourn or cry? Do they miss those they've left behind? Do they follow us, wonder about what's going on every day? Do they have the power to influence our lives? How do they show their love for us, and how do we do the same for them? You might wonder all that after reading this beautiful play. It plays with space and time, there's a fluidity to everything going on. Gorgeous writing, heartfelt.
    Derserves multiple productions.

  • Asher Wyndham: Collector's Item

Tight dramedy. Don't need much to put on this clever one minute play.
If you know anyone that dismisses one minute theatre as slight entertainment or skits, then have them check this out.

  • Asher Wyndham: It is I, Seagull (a Monologue)

The black stage becomes the blackness above Earth in this uplifting monologue. Lawing creates again a character you haven't seen and heard before -- the first Russian woman in space. He displays an intensity of emotion like with other monologues, esp the one about Emily Dickinson. This one is about dream fulfillment, sexism, imagination, ambition, feminism -- so much to consider and appreciate in this beautiful monologue.

  • Asher Wyndham: Earth Date

Another unforgettable date play by Bultrowicz!
A fantastic use of personification to address its environmental themes.
An absurdist comedy that should be considered for any festival on climate change and Earth Day.

  • Asher Wyndham: Amelia Franchesca Amador: The Space Cow Boy

Cowabubga! This solo play for a space cowboy with slimy aliens is so much fun!
What a fun challenge for director and designers.
There's girrrl power and indomitable spirit.
I'd love to see this live!
