  • Asher Wyndham: Tus Hijos

A glimpse of a desert trek to freedom, giving voice to the dreamers.
    Beautiful writing.
Pick this play pronto for any festival on immigration or any theatre raising funds and awareness for undocumented immigrants.
Should be included in every one-minute play festival in the country.

  • Asher Wyndham: TEXT, a Soundscape Play

I've never read a solo play like this before, one-of-a kind maybe.
This wordless, sound-plotted solo show -- there are sounds of whales and so much more -- will thoroughly entertain your audience.
Your audience members will laugh non-stop because every lazy-ass moment for the character Slob is relatable.
This play puts a mirror up revealing the tech-obsessed slob in each of us. In doing so, it forces you to think about time wasted everyday while the birds chirp.
One of my favorite solo plays on NPX. Please read this and, better, produce it.

  • Asher Wyndham: The Taking Tree

Any theatre interested in a showcase of plays on mental health issues and suicide prevention should consider this play. Relatable to anyone who has a family history of mental health issues.
An inspiring, uplifting play that says so much about the power of friendship and importance of opening up about one's fears.
    Surprisingly tender.
So much theatre is forgettable -- this kind of play is necessary. This kind of stellar playwriting needs your attention.

  • Asher Wyndham: The Speedy Gonzales Memorial Turtle Sanctuary

A touching play on the mourning process.
A wacky premise that's surprisingly poignant and uplifting, hopeful.
An emotionally rich piece that two female actors would love to tackle.
A smart choice for any theatre festival on themes of mourning and death.

  • Asher Wyndham: Les Pamplemousses (a monologue in 12 courses)

Young Man is one of the sweetest men I've read -- I can't wait to meet him from an audience under theatre house lights.
His pursuit to win over the woman that he lost his viriginity to with a 12-course meal might not be pitch-perfect romantic, but his desire to create a joyful experience with his date makes it so right, so relatable, so human.
The miming of kissing and eating will lend itself to some physical comedy.
Highly recommended for fringe or a one-act solo festival.

  • Asher Wyndham: Smiling Cat Candy Heart

Borrowing from teen text speak, using emojis brillantly, playwright Jennie Webb has gifted us a fresh take on the divorced parents battling over who's the best parent - a topic that has been explored plenty of times in theatre.
SMILING CAT CANDY HEART will leave a big impact on any audience member that can relate to these parents -- it might inspire a different way of speaking to a child of divorce.
The monologue for the teen girl would be a killer audition or competition monologue.

  • Asher Wyndham: The Swallows

I had the opportunity to see a reading of this wonderful play at the 38th Annual William Inge Festival.
Without ridicule, exaggeration, and stereotype, King presents on page and for stage an intimate, honest look at Southern trailer life for two white women, slowing time it seems, allowing each to be fully human and imperfect before our eyes.
    Highly recommended.

  • Asher Wyndham: Big Iron Fires

I had the pleasure to hear a reading of this play at the 38th William Inge Festival.
Inventive, immersive, intimate theatre that forces you to consider and discuss the issues around gun culture.
This is the kind of play will not only challenges actors and audience, but also producers.
Consider this piece for your festival on plays on gun control.

  • Asher Wyndham: Make Way

What would you do in this dystopian society that Osmundsen has set up? Would you burn books if forced, if that was your only means of surviving and earning a living? Do some books -- and ideas -- deserve censorship? This apocalyptic sci find drama challenges its audience while at the center telling one person's struggle to burn a beloved book from boyhood.

Highly recommend for a festival on censorship or sci-fi themes.

  • Asher Wyndham: Roses are Red

An actress of any age 20+ would love the intelligence and fierceness of this woman.
This would be a killer audition monologue, seriously.
Just right for any Valentine's Day showcase.
