  • Kate Danley: The Devil and the DMV

An absolutely hilarious short about the devil trying to navigate the DMV. Dante didn't write about this circle of hell, but I think we've all been there.

  • Kate Danley: Billionaire Mindset

Absolutely hilarious and so recognizable, it hurts. This is a brilliant piece of satire that skewers the pressures of capitalism on the working class and the people who uphold it thinking that they can win the game. Thought provoking while also totally fun!

  • Kate Danley: Halloween

The play starts on a well-trod path that you think you've seen before, but then ends on a stunningly beautiful note of humanity and heartache that will catch you by surprise and make you realize that none of the "normal" conversations were "normal" at all. A lovely, deftly written piece!

  • Kate Danley: REFRIGERATOR

A poetic and visceral dystopian nightmare. Like all great sci-fi, it takes reality and bends it to reveal truth about the human experience. Unlike anything I've read before!

  • Kate Danley: DISTANT OBJECTS, A Play with Songs (2020)

I had the pleasure of see an excerpt from this at the 33rd Annual Bryan Harnetiaux Playwright's Forum Festival. Heartwarming and sweet, filled with longing and hope while wrapping everything up in a cozy blanket of nostalgia, its ending left me thinking about it long after the curtain went down.

  • Kate Danley: Thank You for Breastfeeding (30-min version)

I had the pleasure of seeing this play at the 33rd Annual Bryan Harnetiaux Playwright's Forum Festival and it was a crowd pleaser! Based on actual conversations and events, this play is a humorous yet unflinching examination of the pressures new mothers face from well meaning individuals. Those who had been through this journey were sitting in the audience nodding their heads with agreement the whole time!

  • Kate Danley: Cathexis

The dialog hums with dry, acerbic wit! The repartee is an absolute fencing match. And I'm ALWAYS a sucker for a play about life in the theatre. All sorts of fun characters and acting opportunities, especially for the 40+ crowd. There's flavors of Tracy Letts in the style. Would absolutely love to see this show on a stage!

  • Kate Danley: Simon Says

A fabulous, chilling, suspenseful short that will leave your mind running long after the words on the page end. Highly recommend!

  • Kate Danley: VERTICAL CONSTELLATION WITH BOMB

Gut-wrenching and beautiful, and its metaphors on the human condition work on so many levels. It seems odd to mention structure when recommending a play, but this play is so completely theatrical (as in, it has to exist on a stage) that it deserves a shout out. The devices of direct address demand that you actively listen. Highly recommend!

  • Kate Danley: Coke Baby

Hilarious short that would liven up any Zoom festival! It's a parent's worst nightmare... if it wasn't so funny!
