  • Kate Danley: A TALE OF AN UNEXPECTED GATHERING AND ROMANCE MADE ABSURD IN THE TELLING

So delightfully absurdist! This play hooks you in with its wordplay and never lets up. It engages your mind like a riddle and got the creaky cogs in my noggin humming.

  • Kate Danley: 2 B or Nah: Sexting Hamlet: A 10-Minute Play

I could watch a whole, full length production of this fun! When folks talk about needing to update Shakespeare to appeal to today's audiences, I'm going to send them to this play. What a hoot!

  • Kate Danley: A 1987 Honda Civic Hatchback

Such a great, twisty sci-fi short that takes the tropes of The Twilight Zone and plays with them gleefully. There's a couple lines that made me, literally, laugh out loud as I was reading. Would be so much fun to see live!

  • Kate Danley: Another Goddamn Dystopian Play

The thing about satire is that the closer it is to the truth? The funnier it is. And this is HILLARIOUS. This is exactly what a writers' group at the end of the world would look like. And the NEED to incorporate the apocalypse for ART is so spot on. I laughed loudly. This would slay at a short festival!!

  • Kate Danley: "Acting"

As a performer trying to work up the courage to step off the Zoom screen and into a room, this hit at a gut level. IRL is tough, but this sweet little monologue gives voice to all the insecurities and craziness and allows us to laugh at ourselves (while also nodding our head and going, "It me.")

  • Kate Danley: Panic

Hilarious! From the very first lines I knew I was going to love this play and it does not disappoint! The horrors of capitalism meets our food supply and it is all on full, witty display here. I, literally, laughed out loud.

  • Kate Danley: Take a Deep Breath

A heartbreaking short about the real horrors we face, horrors that are more terrifying than anything you'll see dreamed up in Hollywood. Great piece!

  • Kate Danley: Last Drive to Dodge

I caught this at The Taproot Theatre and I can barely put into words how gorgeous it was. Complex characters, great roles for women and BIPOC actors, a fascinating world set during Reconstruction in Texas, lyrical prose, and when it delved into conflict, the characters never lost their three-dimensional humanity or vulnerability. And with a cast of four people and easy staging requirements, it is such a "doable" play. I hope many, many other theatres pick up this show!

  • Kate Danley: The Devil and the DMV

An absolutely hilarious short about the devil trying to navigate the DMV. Dante didn't write about this circle of hell, but I think we've all been there.

  • Kate Danley: Billionaire Mindset

Absolutely hilarious and so recognizable, it hurts. This is a brilliant piece of satire that skewers the pressures of capitalism on the working class and the people who uphold it thinking that they can win the game. Thought provoking while also totally fun!
