  • Kate Danley: The Book of Will

I was lucky enough to catch this at the Taproot Theatre and I'm still reveling in the glow of this incredible play. I had joyous tears streaming down my cheeks from the enormity of it all. This is a gorgeous, well-researched, heartfelt love letter to Shakespeare and theatre. It is stunning how, but for a few caring, unsung heroes, we could have lost Shakespeare's words forever. It isn't just a play, it is a call to arms to lift up those around us whose gifts we treasure and make sure they are never forgotten. Standing ovation!

  • Kate Danley: Day Shift of the Dead

For my fellow cubicle farmers hauled back in to the office to warm a chair because your boss has reasons (a.k.a. is bored) after you successfully worked remote for years, folks tied into ridiculous leases and the nightmare minutia of what might happen if your landlord found out you put a nail in the wall, this zombie play is for you! It's funny because it's true. And the final line is killer!

  • Kate Danley: Fallout or a Ballad of Peace and David Hasselhoff

Sometimes you read a play and it just sort of takes your world and gives it a little pivot with a truth you never saw. As a GenXer, this monologue opened my eyes to a moment in time I did not recognize as important in our collective subconscious. But it really was. This is a well written, engaging monologue on its own, but it will leave you reflecting on our shared history long after.

  • Kate Danley: Oldest in the County – A Radio Play

A rich tapestry of community and place, but it is only when you get to the end that you realize fully what all the homespun nostalgia is hiding.

  • Kate Danley: "Bearbaiting" Will Not Be Seen Tonight...

What if Shakespeare was a WWE wrestling match? Who would win the battle royale? Your 11th grade English lit teacher never saw this coming when Hamlet and Macbeth were laid before you! Get thee ready to ruuuumbbble!!!

  • Kate Danley: Rudin Baked Potato Toss

A scathing sharp satire that takes no prisoners! With a title like this, there are a lot of expectations, and it delivers and then some! You'll laugh your way through the whole piece!

  • Kate Danley: GUILTY

More sinfully rich than the chocolate cake the characters are eating! It takes well trod ground and turns it on its head. Absolutely hilarious! (And, as comedy does better than any other genre, a good reminder there are better things to feel guilty about than cake.)

  • Kate Danley: Breaking the Shakespeare Code

An absolutely stunning two-hander! It's Educating Rita and Masterclass with more fireworks and Shakespeare! The dialog sings and the characters are so rich and complex. I devoured it in one sitting!

  • Kate Danley: Boogie Man

They say presenting horror effectively onstage is one of the most difficult things to do. Well, this one os absolutely, 100% downright chilling.

  • Kate Danley: The One-Millionth Monkey

It's sci-fi! It's time travelling! It's an espionage thriller! It's monkeys and Shakespeare! And it is an utter delight!!
