  • Mike Byham: Tender Chickens

I was cracking up as soon as I started reading this egg-celent short. Busser infuses dad joke energy into a sweet barn-yard incestual tale with one punny zinger after another. Just when you think he won't go there, he cocka-doodle does. They will be lining up in all the chicken strip clubs to see this performed. Outstanding, silly fun awaits actors lucky enough to be invited to participate and the audiences witnessing the birth of Shelly.

  • Mike Byham: The Lipstick Effect

A wonderful left turn! This really enjoyable one-act has it all - including a scintillating surprise! So many elements line up to the reveal creating interesting interplay between well-drawn characters. So much fun and sure to be produced in festivals far and wide. Well done!

  • Mike Byham: Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire

Interesting comedic short that plays into the stress of creating the perfect first Christmas for a newborn child. Sweet, relatable and funny.

  • Mike Byham: Crackers for Christmas (A Reindeer Play)

A very cute Christmas story. Robert Weibezahl gives us a glimpse of what happens in the North Pole as celebration ensure following another successful Christmas. A lot of heart and a lot of laughs. Sure to be a holiday festival favorite!

  • Mike Byham: Creche Wars! (Or Nursery Wars!)

There's a lot of fun to be had by lucky actors and directors taking this on! Reminiscent of the kids' show Rugrats, these toddlers are a blast for adults to observe! Plus, there's a political assassination that will prove to be quite popular. Funny stuff.

  • Mike Byham: Roots Deep, Trunk Wide (Bascom & Isaac #2)

I absolutely love this play. Sickles lays bare the anxieties we all have in relationships in a meaningful and extraordinarily fun way. Exquisite.

  • Mike Byham: Buchanan Scores a Deal - 10 Minute Play

Some really cool noir world-building in a short. There's also a surprising twist to what appears to be a simple crime story told well. Kaminski's "Buchanan Scores a Deal" delivers a fun tale with a message of redemption. Would be great to see on stage.

  • Mike Byham: An Awkward Conversation on the Way to the Ice Dispenser (short)

Clever, creepy fun in this short by David Hilder! Great set-up. A short walk in the cold and a demonstration of empathy turns into a horror classic. There is so much to dig into - where did the old lady come from? How does she obtain sustenance (how/why does it work)? I want more! Funny and terrifying.

  • Mike Byham: Cole Agan

This is a deliciously twisted short. Apparently, you can be good or very, very bad to get what you want from Santa. Funny and leaves you wanting more (sequel)? Great fun.

  • Mike Byham: CHIMNEY MONSTER

Clever and adorable, Debra Cole's Chimney Monster tugs at the heart. I love the sweet rendering of Santa juxtaposed with his snarky helper. Perhaps we now have a new Christmas character to love in Ash? Very well done. I can see this short playing at holiday festivals.
