  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Art Duty

Daniel Prillaman is so skillful at creating worlds. The world of Art Duty is no different. It's eccentric, yet cold. Darkly humorous. I am still laughing at the art critics scene and encourage anyone looking for a comedic monologue for auditions to consider the Critic #1 speech! This play is so good, college students should be writing essays on it-- in a good way! I am in love!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: When Your Step-Father Wants To Rule The Earth

Ha! There is something hilarious about Cthulhu having a stepson in art school! This is just so fast paced and hilarious. We are all with Mark as he tries to warn the others, but it is still kind of heart warming to see the horrifying family dynamic come to a satisfying conclusion! What a great concept!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: More Than a Sunburn

The snark in this "culture war" at work is just delightful...and somehow a little relatable? Being the boss and trying to keep everyone happy and included can be murder! Hilarious! The word play is brilliant!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Big Date

This would be SO FUN to stage! The possibilities are endless and audiences will be roaring with laughter, right alongside the roaring monster battle. This is B Movie(Theatre) at its best!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: There Are No Closets in My Classroom

This is just tragically beautiful. Teachers are on the front lines. They are there as young people learn and discover the world as well as themselves. And if the "administration" doesn't like the students' discoveries, it's the teachers who are punished. This teacher is just doing their job wonderfully, thoughtfully and with total admiration of the students they teach. And the fact the teacher is still open to learning more. The right way to speak of students, the right way to teach, but always with heart. This should be performed for a teacher in service and discussed!!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Places (one-act version)

There is so much to this fast paced one act play that you might miss the nuance the first read through. But in performance, I am sure it will be very clear! This would be a great piece for student performers, touching on the farce of "an actor's nightmare" sprinkled with the reality of typecasting/stereotyping in the real world. When real people only get to "be" the 2 sentence description allowed in the "cast of characters," we miss out on so much depth. People are more than name/age/ethnicity and this short play hits that notion home!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: BLISSFULLY YOURS

I love how Jack Levine can take something normal, like a newlywed couple, and twist the circumstances to make it hilariously absurd. And yet, somehow, wraps the whole package up in a moment that makes you go "Aw!" This would be a fun piece for a young couple to perform together.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: By the Short Hairs

This is great and so empowering. Who hasn't heard the unsolicited opinion of some jerk about their appearance? Very real and a great piece for some strong performers.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Courtship of Max and Midge

I adore Max and Midge and I am so ready to learn more from them! I am still giggling. And not JUST because pigeon poop IS funny.
