Wow. This play tackles trauma and pain without needing to get into graphic detail, but still crushes hearts all the same. It's so easy to assume someone who has been through terrible trials without falling to pieces is some kind of strong "superhero." But the strong facades cover the deepest cracks in these superheroes and in a way, it gives hope. Hope that, no matter the nature and size of your pain, you can choose to give it back to the world and feel better in small doses or you can embrace your pain and protect others. Powerful.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Spotting Thermals

This is such a deep, dark thriller. It reminds me of the thrillers I used to watch in my college days and loved. The characters are all so distinct and there are roles for so many great actors. This is a play that will totally be the talk of your season!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The First Mrs. Adam

A fun send up of the Adam & Eve (& Lilith) story! Great characters to play with and a lot of opportunities for design team to shine!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Known Universe (Part Three of The Second World Trilogy)

Dammit, I have a meeting in a few minutes and I have to figure out how to stop crying after reading this play! These characters are so strong and loveable and you never want to let them go. But in 89 pages, you absolutely have to let go. And holding the memory of your love is almost more painful than letting go. But the gift of the time you have with these wonderful characters, watching as they honor the gift of the time they have together, is so wonderful that it is worth the pain at the end.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Pangea (Part Two of The Second World Trilogy)

This is definitely a stand alone play from Marianas Trench, but it sure makes your investment in Andy and Lincoln that much deeper. This is full of tension, heartbreak yet still, a little hope. This is a very believable dystopian future, but the love the characters have for each other and the hope they have for possibly saving the world, as small as it might be, keeps you riveted and invested throughout. Action, adventure, romance and many climate change warnings that will hopefully be heeded before this becomes all too true.

I'm so glad I found this play. Sickles has a way of writing young characters that I wish I would have been friends with when I was younger. And these young characters I want to protect...save so badly! All the characters are very strong and distinct and the way the two children find respite in this harsh world through storytelling is very relatable and tragically sweet. This would be a dream to design. I'm glad there are 2 more parts, I am not ready to say good-bye to these wonderful characters in a nightmare world.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Susan B. Anthony College of Motherhood Arts and Sciences, or Maybelline

This is an epic world, created by Heyman. A world that we fear we are hurtling toward, definitely don't want to live in, but I am dying to learn more about. This feels like a great hook of a pilot episode, for those of us who are fans of The Handmaid's Tale. But this is almost scarier, because the misogyny is disguised in what women crave, education. Getting degrees in Motherhood, classes on Bedtime Negotiations. It's hilarious from an audience perspective. But soon we see the horrors from the characters perspective. This is a brilliant piece. I want more!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Follow the Misleader

Wow! This play has the potential to be launched every night with a different cast (but same stage directions reader) and just kill! Pun intended. The physical comedy forced by the titular "misleader" will be different every night, but always hilarious. This brings to mind many other times I have worked on a production and someone was given more power than they have ever had creatively, and they became true monsters because of it. Not only is there comedy here, but something relatable to others in the arts!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Disappearance of Greta

I absolutely LOVE this story! I love the magic realism. The whimsy of a magical power trapped inside the horrors of war. Just beautiful. And Franz and Helga are a delightful couple, their bickering bringing much comic relief. This feels like the beginnings of an award winning feature film!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: ABIGAIL

Wow. I will be thinking about this play for a long time. As a teenager, I had the opportunity to play Abigail in two different productions. But in the 1990s, we didn't do as much research on the author as we did on the text. As I got into college, the Miller backstory to this play really skews it even more than the historical inaccuracies. This play hits on so many more important topics as well, it left my head spinning. Just brilliant, and will leave audiences talking and debating after the performance is long over.
