The charm of this is that it starts out so funny. Jim and Mary are like Waldorf and Statler, heckling the new groundhog talent, and judging the commercialism of the whole performance had me laughing out loud. "JIM: ...The gift shop. It’s all cheap, tacky crap. You never let a thing go through that wasn’t classy. MARY: If it had Chunk’s face, it was something he used and endorsed." But their true love shines through in such a moving way at the end. Love and respect to Chunk the groundhog.

Okay, has Alles just created a new genre? All plays need to be reimagined with cats in the roles? What about other animals? To see this with the original Alles ERSTWHILE in rep would be amazing.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: O Burgled Companion, Thou Hast Pilfered Mine Heart

Work crushes are always complicated. But you gotta take a chance when the time is right...this was NOT the time. But Knuckles' flowery poetry is pretty hard to resist anyway! Adorable!

I'm so worried for Veronica. And perhaps she is selfish. Perhaps she isn't. Perhaps she is trapped. Perhaps she isn't. It's the not knowing that is terrifying.

This monologue is a beautiful tapestry of words that, woven together becomes a blanket of truth and healing. Not a word or thought is wasted. They all belong together in this very order and it is so very powerful. This is a weighted blanket of truth, but every ounce is earned and necessary. This is so powerful on paper. It will be a knock out in performance.

I adore this magical play with real world lessons on love and loss and the grace we give each other. So many lines hit hard "He just...didn't know what he didn't know." And my favorite word play "We can't always be our best elves."
Each character is strong in voice and layered. I would love to see this staged or even be IN this!

This is lyrical. It is moving. I want to sing these words. This is the start of a beautiful musical. I am even picturing the lighting design!

I laughed out loud through this whole play. Loudest guffaw "I chewed that myself." This farce is so wonderful and it is actually a warning to not paint ANYONE with a broad stroke brush. Even if appearances push your "buttons." This is brilliant. I want to watch it again and again.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Opposite of ERSTWHILE

All three voices in this play are very clear and full of depth. And the story is so wonderful and important. Male friendships as well as navigating "life after..." are stories we don't get enough of these days. I absolutely loves these guys and would love to join them for coffee one day.

I remember a time when getting something engraved at the mall was the epitome of class. And when you had something engraved with your name on it, you were somebody. These two weird characters have gone to the engraver of souls to try to feel like someone, and the gift being they were always someone in Christ Almighty's eyes! The grand prize is the sweet and fun ending of this wacky play!
