  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Chekhov's Gun

I adore this story. It definitely has its Chekovian characters, and of course, the gun. But the whole package is so wonderful. And Cecil's stand-up routine is absolutely hilarious! This is a great play for actors as well as designers. But audiences will simply love the character dynamics, dramatics and the delightfully happy ending.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Doomscrollers of the Apocalypse

This is truly the darkest timeline. This play very clearly illustrates the absolute worst and most dangerous parts of living entirely in our devices and online worlds. It has a terrifying, yet inevitable ending. This would be great for a talkback afterwards, hopefully to stop the audience members from becoming the terrible characters in this story!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Green Room

Audiences adore plays like this! It feels like they are in on a theatrical secret. I would love to see a second act, there are so many possibilities with this play.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Cabana Boy

At first I thought this was going to be a poolside, modern version of Dangerous Liaisons. But Mitch's story of finally having his first love, and having it be such a huge and literally shooting star of a summer romance is just so beautiful and relatable...I mean, we all dream about a famous person falling hard for us when we're young! This is a summer romance that will stick with audiences for a while. I adore the "first pancake" metaphor! I use that one a lot, myself!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Talkback

Indeed. The reading and talkback of a new play can be brutal. But sometimes, it seems the ones talking back are just talking because they have the forum to do so. For the most part, playwrights should take the same attitude as Bill at the end. I mean, look where it got him! This would be a great "warm up" before an actual reading and talkback, so people might look within before they offer changes to a new play!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: END OF PLAY.

Yup. This is actually a great play to read/perform before any playwright endures a reading and feedback session. The respondents all have their own personal baggage they want to toss into the playwright's pages. This play is quite validating in a way. Playwrights, read this and rejoice that you are not alone. Theatres that offer readings with feedback, read this and learn something!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Old Railroad

Awwww. Seriously. Awwwwwwwww. This is true love. I feel warm, nostalgic and all those good holiday-family feels from this short piece. This is a Christmas Card in all the best ways.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Best Little Non-Denominational Winter Performance Ever

Hilariously over the top. This play will get tons of laughs and feel uncomfortably familiar. It's like social media during the holidays come to life!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Is This Part of the Play?

This meta short play is so fun. Olive is a terrific character and actors would fight for this role at auditions! Or would there even be auditions? Is the play still happening now? Great laugh at the end as well!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Split (ten-minute play)

It would be nice to have a protector like Andrea...but not one that literally takes over my life. This short mystery/thriller would be a fun challenge for an actor to take on.
