  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Who Put Bella In The Wych Elm?

Perfection!! A dramatization of a real-life unsolved mystery, the murdered woman guides the audience through all the theories as to who she was and why she died, broken up by scenes with a forensic pathologist and his assistant examining her remains (my favorite bits - the dialogue is fantastic). Smart, funny, and engaging, this is a terrific play about what is expected of women and how women must fight to be seen.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Those Days Are Over

This beautiful play follows five sisters backwards and forwards in time from their mother's death. It is a wonderful combination of poignant and hilarious. Each sister is so different, wrestling with her own demons, and yet they are all one unit as well, thanks to the glue that was their mother. This is a lovely look at growth, dreams, aging, and family. Just a wonderful, wonderful play.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Believe Me - V3

This play keeps you guessing all the way through. Eddie shows up at his sister's house in the middle of the night, running from the law and swearing that he's innocent. A detective with Javert levels of obsession thinks otherwise, and Eddie's sister must decide who to believe. Fast paced and engaging, you will love to watch the mystery unravel!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Rust On Bone

Oh wow, the first 53 pages of this play will suck you in! I wish the rest were available to read - or even better, I wish I could see a production! This play deals with trauma and how it doesn't go away when the traumatic moment has past. The story is told non-linearly, to great effect. What a powerful piece!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Dorothea Puente Tells All! An Evening with the Magnanimous, Distinguished and Noble Lady of Sacramento

Wow! This play chronicles the (eventual) downfall of real life serial killer, Dorothea Puente, with Dorothea narrating and putting her spin on events. It's incredibly engaging and theatrical, and it does a wonderful job showing how everything happened and how Dorothea was able to get away with it for so long. One scene that stuck out for me was the split stage between Dorothea talking to her parole office on Monday and talking to social workers of a prospective tenant on Tuesday. There were so many elements like that which made this story uniquely suited for the stage. Great work!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Harlowe

Ooooh this play! It deals with trauma and healing and touch and family and water - which can be both comforting and destructive. I love how each character is complex and sympathetic in their own way, and watching the dynamics as they interact. Just fantastic.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: The Burning of Kenneth Carrion

Whoa, what a wild ride this play is! A writer from a true crime website shows up at the house of a man who was accused of killing his sister. As she tries to interview him and get to the bottom of what happened, it becomes increasingly difficult to figure out what to believe since truth, faulty memory, and shaky mental health each have a hand in the story being told. I adored the natural dialogue and how it made the play zip along, hurdling toward its conclusion. What a great piece!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: This is it

This short play follows a playwright from learning that she'll be produced on the West End to opening night, with all the joy and stress you can imagine in between. It's a nice study on how it takes a village to get a play produced and a good reminder that different ideas aren't necessarily bad ideas - As well as how invaluable a supportive partner can be. A love letter to the theater, this is a sweet little story about how the sausage is made.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Outgrowth

Well this one will stick with you. The story of an Australian man with a big beard (which he eats!) and an inability to settle down, this unique play has Alby, his best friend, and his wife, talking to the audience, telling Alby's story to us and occasionally acting bits out. Projections are also used throughout the play, making the whole thing feel like a wonderful, theatrical story. A play about restlessness, home, fears, and how little we sometimes know the the ones we love, this play and its three characters will stick with you. Poetic!

Yeeees. I love a good Jesus play, and this one is distilled down to one minute. So fun and fast!
