  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: The Burning of Kenneth Carrion

Whoa, what a wild ride this play is! A writer from a true crime website shows up at the house of a man who was accused of killing his sister. As she tries to interview him and get to the bottom of what happened, it becomes increasingly difficult to figure out what to believe since truth, faulty memory, and shaky mental health each have a hand in the story being told. I adored the natural dialogue and how it made the play zip along, hurdling toward its conclusion. What a great piece!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: This is it

This short play follows a playwright from learning that she'll be produced on the West End to opening night, with all the joy and stress you can imagine in between. It's a nice study on how it takes a village to get a play produced and a good reminder that different ideas aren't necessarily bad ideas - As well as how invaluable a supportive partner can be. A love letter to the theater, this is a sweet little story about how the sausage is made.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Outgrowth

Well this one will stick with you. The story of an Australian man with a big beard (which he eats!) and an inability to settle down, this unique play has Alby, his best friend, and his wife, talking to the audience, telling Alby's story to us and occasionally acting bits out. Projections are also used throughout the play, making the whole thing feel like a wonderful, theatrical story. A play about restlessness, home, fears, and how little we sometimes know the the ones we love, this play and its three characters will stick with you. Poetic!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: NAMING JESUS

Yeeees. I love a good Jesus play, and this one is distilled down to one minute. So fun and fast!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Bold Dorothy, Retired

Never underestimate the abilities of a teacher. This short play about superheroes creating a superhero nonprofit is super cute. With jokes and nods to famous superheros and real-life villains, it's fun watching Dorothy help these heroes to shine their brightest, just like all the best teachers do. Lots of fun!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Dream of Joan

This short play had me from the start! It opens with the immediately engaging stage picture of one character with his hands deep in the mouth of another (who is dressed to the nines), trying to retrieve a piece of frayed dental floss. I loved listening to the dialogue between these two good friends and figuring out how they know each other and what they've been through based on the little tidbits Tina Esper drops along the way. The characters are flawed but sweet, like all my favorites. What a lovely play!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Take My Name Off “The List”

"Don't be a dick, Santa." This short play is delightful. Veruca Salt gives Santa an earful about how she should be taken off the naughty list and how, if she were a boy, she probably wouldn't have even ended up on it in the first place. In many ways, both large and small, Veruca Salt looks less awful than Santa in this play, and I love it. What a fun twist on characters we grew up on.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Line's Drawn

How sweet! This short play about the power of an apology (and the unforgivable act of telling one girl you like her and then holding another girl's hand) would be a fun opportunity for actors. One girl decides to handle things the grown up way (COURT!) while another girl thinks a different grown up way is best. Not all grown up ways are created equal - a good lesson.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Hold them Stunned

This short play is so much fun! Katie is trying to rekindle her husband's love and affection with an unusual perfume. I especially enjoyed the sounds made as ingredients were dropped into the mixture while the perfume was being made. It's always nice to watch women triumph over bad men. Fun stuff!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Being Seen

I had a lot of fun watching an actor who just wants to please and a director who just wants to find out what this actor learned on her Grotowski retreat trade words during the actor's audition. I enjoyed the verbal sparring, and with a cast of two and very minimal set and tech requirements, this would be an easy play for any theater company to stage.
