  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: HAINTS GONE A HAUNTIN'

Haints Gone a Hauntin' is a fun and funny short play about two ghost sisters who have gotten tired of haunting the same old spot in the road and hitch a ride toward new adventures. This play made me smile, and I desperately want a spin off about Walters, to see what happens to him after crossing paths with these ghost sisters.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: For Leonora, or, Companions

Oh my gosh, how beautiful this play is! I'd want to see it live for the lighting effects alone, but the whole thing is wonderful. A lovely story about growing up, fitting in, and the value of friends who truly understand you - both real and imaginary.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: The Value of Moscow

A dark comedy about new starts (or old habits?), a bottle of vodka, pizza, and (maybe?) the Irish Mafia, "The Value of Moscow" follows three sisters (like Chekhov's, but different) as they move back in together, having all fallen on hard times. Over the course of the play, their lives continue to hilariously unravel as dead bodies pile up in their bathtub. Weird and wonderful.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: In Search of Plan A

This short, dark comedy is great. Sally is about to put Plan B (aka suicide) into effect when Arnold accidentally interrupts her. Sweet and touching - as well as very funny - "In Search of Plan A" is a wonderful portrayal of two broken people trying to piece each other back together.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Zoom Coaster

Well this is adorable. How does one date over Zoom while quarantining? Can you really get to know someone that way? Can a meaningful relationship develop? Can you meet up without getting COVID? This play is sweet and surprising and a perfect encapsulation of trying to find love in 2020.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Gamers 4 Life

This short play is surprisingly sweet. The story of two gamers trying to find real-world connections, it strikes a chord after a year of quarantine, in which we've all been stuck making connections online instead of in-person. Brain Walker makes you really feel for these characters in only 10 pages.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Misfortune (a ten minute play)

Oh my GOSH. A man's fortune cookie tells him that the person he just ate dinner with will kill him tonight, and hilarity ensues. This short play deserves all the awards it has won and more. It's just terrific.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: She Fed the Devil (10 minute play)

Too much fun!! That sneaky Satan. This short play is just delightful as it zips along with fast and razor sharp dialogue. I'm a sucker for plays with Biblical characters acting like 21st century people, and this play is one of my favorites.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: 38 COOKIES, 39 REASONS [A MONOLOGUE]

Oh my gosh. This short play is, in one way, so simple, but in another way so complex. As we watch Terry slowly, methodically eat an entire package of cookies, they give a reason why they're eating all these cookies before they eat each one, and the wide variety of reasons given touch on so many reasons for eating disorders. It's rare to see a play that is so effortlessly powerful.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Here's Your Sandwich

This short play about a writer struggling with writer's block is both funny and relatable. I love the banter between Joel and Liz as he struggles to come up with an idea for a ten minute play. Joel coming up with the plot of The Zoo Story in particulate made me giggle - haven't we all applauded our own brilliance for a moment, before realizing we just thought up a story that already exists? This play is delightful.
