The first line of this short play is, "No, this isn't gay at all," and I knew immediately that I should settle in for a good time. I just finished googling Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum (the paintings of them are terrific!) and I'm thrilled that Lee Lawing wrote a play about them AND taught me something new. It's fun to think of them making out with each other for all eternity under the watchful gaze of their giant, not-gay-at-all tomb painting.

This short play is surprisingly sweet! Michelangelo shows his former lover, Tommaso, his finished work in the Sistine Chapel, and they have a conversation that feels very true to two people who used to be close, but have since grown apart. I don't want to give anything away, but the ending really got me. So touching! I'd love to see this live.

This full length play about a group of women who take on the Grand Dragon is great! The women are complex and surprising, and I loved watching the story unfold.

What happens when you cross Elijah Vazquez's brain with the events of 2020? You get this collection of vignettes which perfectly summarize the horrors of the year, often with no words at all. A few of my favorites were Lady Liberty on a speed date with Racism, America clawing her way out of a pile of Bibles, and a Black man trying not to be pulled down. But they were all wonderful. What a profoundly great play about America.

I loved watching this short play unfold. A recently widowed woman goes to her husband's best friend for help making sense of his last words and the meaning behind them. I thought I knew what this was going to be, but it kept surprising me, right up to the ending. Such a well written play!

This short play is a hilarious retelling of the Rumpelstiltskin story with a twist ending that I wasn't expecting! Emma's description of new motherhood as a constant juxtaposition of joy and sobbing made me laugh in recognition. Any parent would love this play - any PERSON would love this play. The dialogue is fast and funny and, unlike the original story, everyone lives happily ever after. Ten minutes well spent!

This sweet short play perfectly sums up 2020 for me, right down to the fact that 2020 ended on Inauguration Day, not New Years Day. Just as these characters say, things aren't perfect yet, but they're getting there - and the thought of David Bowie looking out for all of us is super comforting.

Oooh this play! Men start wars, commit mass shootings, rape, pee in alleys, and generally make the world worse. So, 150 years in the future, women have figured out how to reproduce without men, men are all but extinct, and life is much better - or is it? This play raises some excellent questions all while clipping along with humor and a cast of complex female characters. "HisStory" says a lot without ever leaving you feeling preached to. What a great piece.

Oh my gosh. This is officially one of my favorite ten minute Zoom plays AND one of my favorite plays about 2020. Greg Lam takes 2020 and heightens it to what feels like a very obvious conclusion. This comedy is dark and wonderful. It deserves all the productions.

I love the quick pace of this five minute play and the way the two characters' dialogue seems to ping pong off each other. It is light, quirky, and fun - my favorite kind of short play!
