I don't have enough compliments for this play. It begins with a couple 30 weeks pregnant being told no heartbeat can be detected, and then it alternates between moving forward in time and returning to that day, preparing to give birth. It is beautiful and heartbreaking. One moment that got me was the observation that we use language to understand our world, but there is no word for parents of a dead child, so you don't understand who you are. So much weighty stuff articulated perfectly. I am going to be thinking about this play for a long time.

Best ending stage direction ever. Ashleigh (who I have decided is the same Ashleigh from “Ashleigh Says Out Loud the Thing She Meant to Say in Her Head”) is up to bizarre shenanigans in her neighborhood, and her neighbors take it all in stride. My favorite thing about this two-minute play is that no explanations are given to the audience or sought by the characters. Five stars. Read this play, but hide your rake- Ashleigh’s coming.

What must it be like inside Daniel Prillaman’s mind?? I began this one-minute play thinking to myself that we’ve all said things out loud that we should have kept to ourselves, so in a way, we’re all Ashleigh. But then I read it, and we are NOT all Ashleigh. What a hilarious twist! I love a one-minute play that surprises you.

This short film is adorable. A newly married couple forced to live in a house with only one bathroom (until they're able to sell it, that is) finds the situation harder and harder to handle as the film goes on. The scenes get shorter and shorter as the film hurtles to its conclusion and you wonder if this marriage is going to survive its bathroom problems. Without a single wasted moment, this film is clever, sweet, and funny.

This one act is delightful!! It uses audience volunteers in such a fun way, and had me laughing out loud as I read. (I LOVE the idea of emergency wine. Sooo good.) Each character is uniquely distinct, and even the audience volunteers are varied and given fun things to do. I'll bet this plays amazingly on its feet.

I love this short play! A woman appears in a church and asks the priest to hear her confession, and I don't want to give anything away, but it is both funny and profound and I adored it. John Busser writes great plays.

These three one-minute plays are wonderful!! I saw "The Plunk" performed a few months ago and tried to find it on NPX to review. I didn't realize it was one of the plays included in "Triptych on Divining," and I was very excited to rediscover it today. These plays will all leave you feeling so many things after only one minute. Read them, read them!

What a fun play! Bobby's got a date with Death tomorrow, so today a deceased frenemy from his past shows up to tip him off and to promise Bobby an easy job in Hell - on one condition. This ten minute play is great!

This play is charming and offers two amazing roles for older actors (which, as Susan points out in the play, are few and far between for women as they age.) It was a quick, enjoyable read, and I'm sure this play goes over great with an audience.

What if presidential primaries were decided by an American Idol-type show with theme weeks like 'High School Yearbook' and 'Kindergarten Art'? Watching three presidential contenders vie for office by sharing artwork they made in kindergarten was a delight -especially when the judges of the show are George Washington, Jackie Kennedy, and RBG. This short play is a lot of fun!
