  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: The B Is For Bullsh!t

What a beautiful play! I always enjoy John Mabey's writing, and I love this exploration of identity and who gets to define what it is and what it means. So many wonderful little details (and wonderful moments of comedy!) come together to build a very engaging full length play about people wrestling with who they are and struggling for acceptance from people whom they had always previously felt accepted by. What a great piece!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: BLESSINGS FROM THE PANDEMIC

This collection of monologues/poems is such a perfect encapsulation of what it has been like living through this pandemic. It gives voice to so many emotions, thoughts, and small discoveries that we've all experienced in some form or another over the course of the past year. The piece about the friend who cried because a tree was cut down stood out for me in particular. Years from now, when this is long behind us and we forget all the minutia of what it was like and how it affected us, this lovely play will be there to remind us.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Breakout

I’m such a big fan of Tom Moran. This short play about an office meeting that spirals to weird places is a delight. Tom Moran always writes with such intelligent humor, I can’t get enough!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Hello, My Name Is...

So, Amy is my sister, but I don’t say nice things about her just because we’re related. In fact, it makes me less inclined to be nice. But, secure in the knowledge that our parents love me best, I can say without nepotism that Amy’s dark comedy about a cult is great. It is very funny and (bonus!) easy to produce, since the whole play takes place in one location. It is strange and silly, weird and wonderful. And dark. A great night of theater by the second-best Dellagiarino.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: PerSEVERance

Oooh this short virtual play is great! It starts out funny and slowly morphs into scary. What a great use of the virtual medium! It's hard to create suspense in under ten pages, but David Lipschutz has done it and done it well. "PerSEVERance" would be a great addition to any short play festival happening online!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Maria and Little Joey Have a Baby

This short play is fun! A mobster’s daughter runs away from home and has a baby - father unknown- while hiding out. Little Joey finds her and tries to convince her to go home. Engaging, tense, and mysterious (who’s the father??), “Maria and Little Joey Have a Baby” will keep you hooked from start to finish!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Six Dead Bodies Duct-Taped to a Merry-Go-Round

I read this one based on the title alone, and boy am I glad I did. This short play is darkly funny, and the characters feel real and relatable even though they're talking about duct taping six dead bodies to a merry-go-round. I would love to see this live, for audience reactions alone. This play is weird and wonderful.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: TBA

What a beautiful play this is! A reclusive writer on the cusp of his big break is working on a book of short, autobiographical stories which are going to make him a star - until things start to go wrong. "TBA" explores the fine line between fact and fiction in such an interesting way, and it doles out information in tiny, tantalizing morsels as the play progresses. Before I knew it, I had reached the end. It hooked me from start to finish!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Children's Letters To Satan

Well, this is delightful. It's a collection of children's letters to Santa, only they spelled Santa wrong and they ended up getting delivered to someone very different. If I saw this live, it would be one of those shows where I'm secretly wishing for it to last forever. SO funny.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: The Asylum of Bridesmaids

This short spoof on Animal Planet is so much fun! I love the flowery description of bridesmaid action/activity that the voice over provides, juxtaposed with the much less majestic reality of what the bridesmaids are actually doing. Anyone who has ever found themselves at the same bar as a bachelorette party will be able to appreciate this one!
