  • Enid Cokinos: Inevitable

I love INEVITABLE by Mindy Roll! This creative setting for the engaged couple’s situation—trapped in a bank fault—added the perfect layer to this funny short play. What better time and place for Bea and Aaron to hash out those pre-wedding issues? Or perhaps, not? The twist was fabulous (I did not see it coming)! This play will be a delightful treat for audiences.

  • Enid Cokinos: Table 42

Chris Lindsay’s TABLE 42 is a tender, romantic short play. The characters perfectly portray the awkwardness and vulnerability of taking that first step toward a new relationship; made even more difficult after suffering a painful loss. This play would be a perfect addition to any festival, especially a Valentine’s Day or Love themed production.

  • Enid Cokinos: Two Late

TWO LATE is a poignant story involving a TSA agent and Clara, a passenger who may miss her flight. Two characters, seemingly at odds with each other, but as they share their secret pasts, they come together in a touching final moment. Playwright Allan Maule sprinkles heavier moments with a nice bit of humor to take the audience through a fulfilling range of emotions during this short play.

  • Enid Cokinos: The Wrinkle Ranch (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

THE WRINKLE RANCH ladies are hilarious! I love their spunk and the friendship chemistry between them is perfect. How can you not love 70 to 80-plus-year old women conversing about the Urban Dictionary and Sex Scrabble? Colleen’s declaration, “…we cowgirls are going to ride these old ponies” gives you a hint about where things go from there! You go, girls! This was a delight to read and it is easy to see why it has been a festival favorite.

  • Enid Cokinos: FOR THE RECORD...

FOR THE RECORD is an incredibly touching play. The story grabbed me from the beginning and held on to the very end. The emotions between the two characters bubbled right to the surface through true-to-life, well written dialogue. This is a truly heartfelt gem.

  • Enid Cokinos: Imaginary Friends

This play takes only a few short minutes to perform, but it is full of heart and humor. Audience members will certainly relate to the fate of these imaginary friends. Personally, I wanted to adopt each one!

  • Enid Cokinos: Canyon's Edge

CANYON’S EDGE is a from-the-heart play. Barbara Lindsay’s realistic characters and dialogue immediately pulled me into the story, and the emotional twist was perfectly placed. Nicely done.

  • Enid Cokinos: THE GREATEST CARD TRICK

THE GREATEST CARD TRICK is a sweet play about reliving a magic moment in a relationship. Hugh MacKay’s touching play is easily produced with two roles perfect for “mature” actors. A plus for any short play festival.

  • Enid Cokinos: Bootsie Manilow Speaks

Our pets know when things aren’t right and Bootsie Manilow isn’t afraid to speak his mind about owner Hannah’s current dilemma…or any other topic. BOOTSIE MANILOW SPEAKS is a touching short play about a life-changing conversation between Hannah and her beloved cat. A nice addition to Rhino Theatre’s 6th Annual One-Act Jamboree.

  • Enid Cokinos: The Realization Came Halfway Through the Donut

THE REALIZATION CAME HALFWAY THROUGH THE DONUT is a short play full of humor—and sweet sentiments—between Ed and Marjorie when Ed decides he needs to lose weight and his first morning out jogging was eventful, to say the least. Well-played by the actors in Rhino Theatre’s 6th Annual One-Acts Jamboree.
