I'd agree with Dave Patton wholeheartedly. I'd go out of my way to read a shopping list scribbled by Vivian C Lermond. She takes the ingredients and puts her creative spin on everything. Her work is always completely original, layered with the unexpected and an absolute joy to read. I am chuffed to divulge that I gave her the writing prompt that inspired her to produce this wee gem. Bragging aside, she created another cracker.
  • CONVERGENCE (A Different Christmas Story)
    5 Mar. 2023
Is there anything more exciting than getting the chance to read a brand-new piece of writing? Especially when the scribe in question, is the multi-talented Vivian Lermond. Convergence has a cracking plot, sharp dialogue and some really great characters to spend some time with. There are 295 days to go until Christmas and yet the descriptions of food, and drink have left me feeling very festive. No spoilers but it has the best ending. 'Reyt good'...as we Yorkshiremen would say.

There is so much to enjoy in Space Rock Sock Hop, the title alone makes me smile like a Cheshire cat.
I've worked with many youth theatre groups and this piece would be very popular.
A very original take on a very popular genre.
    Loved it.
  • WE RIDE AT DAWN! (a monologue)

    Heroic and bold.
Sickles plays with language and paints bold vibrant images.
He makes me want to try harder as a writer. Enough said.

This ten-minute piece completely pulled me in and held me much longer than the allotted time. In fact, I am still processing it.
    Beautiful and poignant.
I can't wait to read more of John's work.
  • THE GREAT DIVIDE ( a one minute monologue)
    12 Jul. 2022
Nicely layered like one of the delicious treats you mention. Note to the reader...be very careful, there's a sharp aftertaste of reality that catches your breath. Well done.
  • Silent Vows
    12 Jul. 2022
As a fan of silent cinema, this ticks all of my boxes. Actors looking to showcase their movement skills should jump at the chance. A fresh and different approach. Well done Chris Plumridge.

  • What the Dickens (from 1 minute shorts)
    12 Jul. 2022
Every day we say a prayer
Will they change the bill of fare
Still, we get the same old
    GRUEL!!!!!

Please, sir, I want some..... more!
    Nice reworking 'me' old China
  • DIVE BOMBER ( a one minute monologue)
    12 Jul. 2022
Boy, I'm learning all about exotic drinks tonight, amaretto almond liqueur, root beer and then more beer. Anything with a double beer in it is super-cool with me. As always with Lermond's work, there is a double helping of fun and smart wordplay.
    Great yarn.
Constant Happy Hour!!! Have you heard the expression...on the lash?
  • SAWZALL SCREW UP ( a one minute monologue)
    12 Jul. 2022
I hate techno music, too. Or as we call it...Doof-doof. I had no idea about such female things. A lady Gym, eh? Can you get a repetitive strain injury? VL always makes me laugh out loud...even on the bus.
    Entertaining and educational.
