  • Tae a Virus
    30 Apr. 2020
Patton, an ex-pat living in Detroit has done it again and pulled off the very difficult task of channeling the Scottish bard.
'Tae a Virus'cleverly mimics the the standard Habbie, or ‘Burns stanza’popular in the 18th century.
A very witty and apt lockdown look at current events.

Soon to be aired on Scotland's up and coming arts show- Writer's Block Radio Hour.
  • Surrounded (a monologue)

This is a classic case of less is more.
A masterclass in comic storytelling against the clock.

A total gift for an actor.
  • Tsunami - a monologue (COVID 19)
    29 Apr. 2020
When reading this visceral monologue, I lost my footing and ended up being pulled along by Miller's incredibly descriptive undertow. Immersive and expertly crafted.

It has already graced the airwaves in the UK.

  • THE BOURBON MONOLOGUE
    29 Apr. 2020
I was blessed to have been able to include this little gem in a recent arts radio broadcast in the UK. It's a perfect audition piece for a an actor with good taste. I raise my glass to Miss Lermond. She's done it again. Short, sweet and very neat.
  • A young man's coming of age through Rock 'n Roll

I was lucky enough to premiere this sharp monologue at The Rum Diaries Presents Writer's Block night in Glasgow recently. 'Suddenly, the day seemed brighter, girls were smiling at us, not sniggering, and I even smiled at my wee brother'- writes Patton. Well after hearing this, we were all smiling and sniggering and our rainy night in Scotland was certainly much more brighter. In fact, it made me want to run home from the theatre and play some classic Mick and Keith. Witty and totally original.

Add one large cup of humour, sprinkle a generous handful of clever observations and sit back and be entertained by this wonderful flavoursome monologue. I know it’s wrong to judge a person on the things they choose to eat but sometimes it can’t be helped.
Myra starts her date with hope and a healthy appetite, but things definitely don’t go the way she wants them to.
If you are looking for a well crafted and original monologue, put this in your pantry. It's brilliant.
