  • THE SAGA OF BARNEY THE BULLY (MONOLOGUE)
    9 Mar. 2022
THE SAGA OF BARNEY THE BULLY is another classic title from Vivian Lermond. What a great piece to read the day after International Women's Day. Lermond's dialogue once again dances off the page with her usual unique style.
Woman up and read this tale of crafty comeuppance. Sure packs a wallop!
  • Wish You Were Here.
    9 Mar. 2022
Sitting on a train heading home from rainy Glasgow, I started reading Dave's new piece. I have to say it instantly sucker-punched me in the solar plexus and played havoc with my imagination. Beautiful, heartbreaking, visceral and every parent's worse nightmare. I'm going straight home to give vice-like hugs to my five-year-old twins, whether they like it or not.
    Let's record this soon DP.

  • A Cuppa is Better at Coney's
    6 Feb. 2022
This is Dave at his best. And, yes I'm calling him Dave. I know him, so it's cool. Also seems very apt given the subject matter of his laugh-out-loud piece.
So very well observed. The gentrified stuck-up poncey la-de-da barista and hipster hang-outs, that fleece and make you feel like you've worn the wrong shoes. It made me want to ditch my decaf and wire myself up to the caffeine main grid. But I just want a normal cup of Joe. Hold everything else.
    Incredibly observed and topical.
    Loved it....(pauses for effect)...Dave.
    Let's record this for WBRH.

  • SLUSH PILE BLUES
    6 Feb. 2022
As someone who regularly sifts through weird and wonderful scripts for selection, it's very reassuring to see a Lermond script in the mix.
I found Slush Pile Blues to be both hilarious and very true. As always, I am inspired by her storytelling and how she can say so much in such a short amount of time. I need to spend more time with Dylan and Benzo. Please write more.
    Wonderful stuff!!!
  • GOIN’ BACK TO GOONSVILLE - A Short Spoof on Sappy Seasonal Movies (FROM THE CRACKED UP CHRISTMAS COLLECTION)
    21 Nov. 2021
I was very excited to wake up the other morning to discover Vivian had sent me her brand new offering. Like all of her wondeful work, I always love spending time with her unique and addictive characters and once again, I wasn't disappointed.

    "Everything is better with a
twist of Lermond". (See what I did there?)
    Loved it.
  • Damn You Look Good
    21 Oct. 2021
I was very lucky to have included this in a radio broadcast during the lockdown. Sums up the bittersweet aging process. The ultimate backhanded compliment explored. A very clever and funny monologue. A gift for an actor of a certain age.
    Superb!!!
  • Abandonment
    21 Oct. 2021
Dave's style is fresh and free flowing.
I can relate to those withdrawals and yearnings.
Poetic and powerful with an unexpected finish.
  • ICE IS NICE
    21 Oct. 2021
Vivian has once again baited my hook.
    Another sixty second success.
    Loved it.
  • HAINTS GONE A HAUNTIN'
    25 May. 2021
Dead Man's Curve has lost its appeal for two sibling spectres from the swinging sixties looking for fresh new bodies to inhabit.
As with all of Lermond's back-catalogue, Haints Gone a Hauntin' is an absolute joy to read. The words jump off the page and spark imagination fireworks.
This brand new piece has a classic Ealing comedy feel to it. Very funny and incredibly well written.
  • DIVING PRACTICE: A TEEN MONOLOGUE
    14 May. 2020
As a director of youth theatre, I cannot recommend this original monologue enough. It perfectly captures a soul searching teenager trying to work through his own feelings.
    Genuine and incredibly thought provoking.
    A must for younger actors.
