Wow! I did not see where that was going at all, and I loved it! Hilary has created a brilliant interaction here that twists and turns, just when you think you are sure what is going to happen next it dances in another direction. I also love the use of Shakespeare in this modern setting and think it would make a fabulous piece for two strong female performers!

Its easy to think of an 'ex' as persona non grata but in this case Laura has offered a wonderful refreshing perspective. Despite being ex's Katherine and William get together on Christmas Eve to exchange their favourite foods and talk about the old days. The dialogue all the way through feels wonderfully real, from the moments of awkwardness through to tender moments. Honestly, its a wonderful piece that makes you think about what the holidays can be about, reconnecting with people. Its a fabulous play and I wasn't bothered at alll about reading a Christmas play in March!

The world of exploring and adventure is so much of what theatre should be about and Claudia has captured it beautifully in this play. Like any adventure story it draws you in as though you yourself are waiting for the letters! While the set itself is described as simplistic the story and the entertainment value of the story couldn't be further from it. Its a whimisical play of adventure and kindness that will speak to children and adults alike and remind us all that sometimes we need an adventure as part of our real life.

We had the great privilege of reading this piece as part of our Sunday night play reading and honestly the only disappointing thing was that we were unable to see this intoxicating piece performed live so we could witness the intricate movement that intertwines the dialogue between these three characters. Its a piece that offers delectable dialogue and brings characters from history to life in an enticing love triangle. Its a play that offers the audience a chance to be drawn in (as I'm sure they will be) and offers three performers the chance to play fabulously powerful roles!

I just love a play that brings history to life and that is exactly what Jennifer has done here. The play not only draws the audience into this particular story but makes you want to know more about the period, and that's what makes it a fascinating piece. The characters and their relationship are made to feel so wonderfully real as we are guided through this wonderfully interesting story interlaced with moments that will capture an audience and make them want to know more about the era!

They say religion and politics are things you shouldn't discuss on a first date, well I'd like to add serial killers to that list! This is a fascinating twisting piece that keeps you curious and keeps you guessing all the way through. In 10 pages Gabriella presents two characters, who aren't who you think they are and a twisting plot that will draw an audience in as well as entertain, what more could you want!

As sad as loss is, the act of honouring the deceased can be a beautiful thing and that's what Christine has created here. Its a lovely moment shared between mother and daughter that allows you discover as the play goes on, not only about them but also about the man they are honouring. Its a lovely paced play that offers some beautiful moments despite the sad circumstances and I'm sure would be fabulous to perform!

Bloody Mary, Beetlejuice, Candy Man and Now Aphra Behn! You are brought into one fateful night when two drunk girls, who are not enjoying their lot in life, bring forth Aphra Behn, and boy does she have a lot to educate them on! This piece provides a wonderful shapshot regarding the world of female playwrights, not to mention offers a wonderful lesson of 'if you're unhappy with your life, then change it!' I won't say what the changes are but you should read this and find out for yourself because, like the rest of the play, its brilliantly done!

Oooooo! Erin you drew me in like a fish on a hook and then launched that ending at me with amazing precision! That was my gut reaction when I got to the end of this fabulous tension loaded play. Its just fabulous how Erin has you thinking so many different things about Nyla and Sam. The play twists and turns with wonderful precision and provides you with moments of dark humour that you can't help but smile at (as bad as that may sound). Just fabulously done!

Its a truth generally acknowledged that parents believe they know what's best for their children. In this case, the way Kitty opens the mother's eyes to what her son is really going through is a powerfully emotional scene that is very well done. Both parents are portrayed in a very real way that makes you believe they want what's best, in their way, which leads to the escalating tension and argument for a perfectly timed moment that no parent ever wants to face, acknowledging that maybe they don't know best. It offers a great chance for powerful performances!
