Darrin has done an amazing job of creating a character that I truly LOATHED! Both the attitudes of Gary and the reactions of those around him, who represent the changes in the world will easily be relatable to an audience and is also sure to spark emotion and debate. Despite my dislike of Gary I wanted to see where his journey goes after this and that is the amazing quality of this play, it works as a snapshot and potentially as a starting block for the audience to see Gary's journey. Its powerfully tense and wonderfully emotive!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Three Blind Mice

I'm constantly seeing posts/videos about how men are forgotten by todays society and the heart breaking consequences that can lead to. It was a wonderfully and refreshing change of pace to see Darrin celebrate the act of male bonding, even though the topics of discussion were emotional and hard hitting. As the audience, you have the privilege of being a fly in the wall as part of a very real conversation and important conversation between three characters that felt so real, I could see them sat around the table, discussing, listening and realising how important friendships are. Beautiful!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Stuck in Street View

I nearly went through my screen I was leaning forward so much reading this piece! Lou does an amazing job of drawing the audience in, and bringing lots of questions to the surface right from the very beginning! As a result you NEED to keep reading to get the answers you seek. Its a play that offers tension, intrigue and a wonderful pace thanks to her 'countdown' (You'll have to read yourself to find out what that means). It offers powerful roles to perform and an entertaining and addictive story to follow!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: On This Site in 1782

The word 'nothing' is used regularly to describe days of little excitement or interest but the 'Site' in question here very much has 'somethings' happen. I won't say any more because these tales, set many years apart but just as fascinating, are ones you need to explore for yourself. As always, Chris has created characters you love to laugh with (or maybe at) and share the experiences that make up this piece with. It may be a story that Moira, Michael, Fergus and Patrick tell later in their lives but its a play that needs to be seen/shown.

A reimagining of a classic is always intriguing to read and to discover how the playwright has accomplished said reimagining. In the case of John Patrick Bray, in this extract alone he draws you into to a world of mystery and thrills so you are desperate to know what happens next. Its a play that offers a thrill a minute (and that's just from this extract) just as the original mystery did. Its no wonder this piece has been produced and published, its a fabulous reimagining that offers its audience plenty in the way of entertainment and mystery.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A RAINY NIGHT IN HOLLYWOOD - one-act based on actual events in 1940's Hollywood.

I've always had a secret love for plays where you can just read the and in your mind you can see exactly how it would work on stage, and this play would definitely work. Its a play that delicately escorts its audience back to a magical time and into the life of one of the biggest stars of the time and then, just when you think you are in for a play about the glitz and glamour you're given something beautifully emotional and real. Its a play that makes you WANT to know more, and not just about Ms Hayworth!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A GUST OF WIND (a two minute monologue)

We read this piece as part of our Sunday night play reading and I found myself wanting to cheer by the end despite the sad initial concept. It's easy to consider loss and death as the end of something but Marj embraces the idea of new beginnings and that gives this piece a fabulous sense of power!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Yeah, I Have Regrets: A Monologue

We had the great privilege of reading this as part of our Sunday night play-reading and it's a fabulously powerful piece that speaks to everyone who has thoughts about the 'what ifs' of their life. It's wonderfully emotional and powerful in equal stead and offers a chance for a fabulously powerful performance!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: BALL AND CHAIN a monologue

We had the great privilege of reading this piece as part of our Sunday night play reading and it's a fascinating exploration of relationships, marriage, and regrets all wrapped in wonderful language. You can see the wonderful scenes that are constructed as part of this emotional reminiscing. Offers a wonderful insight into the world of 'what ifs' and 'what could have been'.

Death can do all sorts of things to a person and Ian explores all of those powerful emotions in this ten minute play. An audience won't fail to be struck by the heart breaking circumstances that Alec has found himself in, contemplating and trying to live through the loss of the person he loves. Its an emotional play with wonderful moments of humour that provides the audience with moments that they may not expect. Speaking personally, I shed a tear or two! Offers a powerful performance opportunity for two actors!
