  • Christopher Plumridge: Sister Vagina and learning to swear.

How could you be not drawn into such a wonderful title as this! This monologue is hilarious especially in the references to swearing and I love how slick and fast the refences to the narrators upbringing come, which paint a wonderful picture of his life. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Cuppa is Better at Coney's

This monologue could just have easily come from my mind (but I could never write it so well, I hasten to add!) such is the way David describes his visit to a coffee emporium. I too find the false, exaggerated hospitality quite irritating. The wit running through this piece had me smiling throughout though! 'Eyelashes a bumble bee could ski jump off' Brilliant!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Voice From the Prussian Sea

I simply love and admire the atmosphere Aly has created in this wonderful, moving play! I felt submerged in the story so much I could also feel the shaft of sunlight coming from the cellar latch door. The relationship between the two girls is written so beautifully and heart felt, then at the end i am reminded of what a dire situation poor Zelde finds herself in. Such a beautiful short play, I love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Some Assembly Required

Haha, what fun this play is! I have sometimes built furniture and wondered why it has to be so difficult, maybe I'm not an Ikea person either! This play is funny, slick and a good account of married life whilst under the undue pressure of self furniture build!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Is This Sexual?

The tension in this play by Cipolla is as intense as the two main characters, who meet up at a seedy motel. At first we do not know why they are they, then the reason becomes uncomfortably clear. But the twist at the end steels this piece, it hits you in the face and you feel embroiled in their fight! I also admire the clear stage directions which help to build the characters and their relationship. Excellent!

  • Christopher Plumridge: THE WARSHIP WATERLOO

I often wonder about the merits of a one minute play, can it be worth it? But Monica has proven me wrong in this slick, fast paced and energetic sci-fi! Can the Waterloo seek sanctuary with its precious cargo, is it a trick? Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Joey Age 10

As time goes by, Joey seems to accept the brutal abuse coming to him with an air of calm, this in itself is truly heart breaking. A paper plane thrown from a bus, a few cookies? Any abuser caught and hopefully imprisoned should be made to watch this incredible series staged, to be shown clearly the hideous impact their actions have caused. I say once again, Joe writes these plays superbly, drawing in the audience uncomfortably into the dire situation. Amazing.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Joey Age 9

I am compelled to keep reading this incredible series by Joe, here we see Joey finding some strength to confront his abducter and abuser, but at cost. Emotional enough but one line completely choked me. The imaginary friends small monologue at the end says so much too. Aside from the content, these are incredibly well written, punchy plays. These have to be staged!

  • Christopher Plumridge: It's Not Me

In this slick two hander Rachel takes the "it's not you, it's me, but it isn't me because it's actually you" break up scenario to a whole new level. I'm still not sure what Claires real reason is, and at the end of this I feel I am Kevin himself, well I certainly feel his pain! This will leave the the audience in a mild state of confusion and questioning her motives, which for this reader I love!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Lady Of The Evening (a three minute play)

What starts of as a rather naughty encounter soon turns very funny indeed! I'm not sure if that's what Patrick intended but he sure recieved a lesson in 'sleeping with' someone. A great spin, love it!
