  • Christopher Plumridge: Birdhouse, a monologue

This touching monologue says so much in so few words. I think we can all relate to a time when excitement became confused with love, this is how I see this short. Aside, the author describes the setting and feelings beautifully.

  • Christopher Plumridge: No Rest for a Soul

Having been to a real life rock stars funeral (albeit outside the church) who took his own life, this play rings so very true. Are we truly responsible for our own actions and will we be judged in any sort of afterlife? Who knows, what I do know is that this is a great play and well worth a read.

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Green Bullet

This is a heartfelt, well written two hander, which hints a lots of history between the two characters. It also touches on the spirit of forgiveness. Very nice.

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Language Bear

Oh I do love a good ghost story, add in a bear and I'm hooked! But what starts off seemingly innocent, gradually and somewhat painfully, turns into something very dark. This is written with the perfect amount of tension and fear, with so many unanswered questions I feel there is a lot more can be done with this piece! Wonderful!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Wedding Bill Blues

This is a hilarious take on a wedding, and having audience volunteers taking part is inspired! I especially enjoyed Sindee, what a great character, as they all are. With an audience willing to take part, maybe after a few drinks, this will be an absolute hoot to perform! I loved it!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Hello?

This is a very clever and spooky short, it would be wonderful to stage, with the best possible lighting effects. I agree with another recommendation, this is reminiscent of the film The Others. What I think is particularly clever is that the author never actually explains who the ghost(s) is in this piece, we just assume.....Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Barbarian

The one sentence to describe this short play drew me in instantly, who could resist a female Viking Vampire invader, obviously not the priest. The character descriptions had me laughing too, they are spot on and to the point! However I do wonder if Idunn will rue the decision she made with Edmund? But I won't give this away, read it yourself.....if you dare. Oh come on read it anyway, it's great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: No Theater Critics Were Harmed in the Writing of this Play

I think we can all relate to either the writer or the reader in this piece. For me, I sympathize with the writer, worrying somewhat unnecessarily if they have offended a theatre critic, when we know deep down that's most likely impossible! This is fun and pacey, I enjoyed it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Boy Who Cried Wolf on Old MacDonald's Farm (In The Limelight: Short Plays for Large Casts-Adapted Classics for Children)

This version of so many nursery rhymes thrown into one is so much fun, I particularly enjoy the seven sheep and the nervous pigs! This would be a fun play for a youth group to have a hoot with. Loved it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Two of Every Animal

If ever there was a message, a lesson to learn, this play is it. Aly takes us to what may be a future not as far ahead as we think, a future where humanity gives up on Earth itself. But politics aside, this is a touching play about two young scientists, two young friends who remain with each other, even though miles separate them, to the inevitable end, in their joint determination to preserve other species. This is a beautifully told story of a future we can only hope will never happen.
