Arts funding, whether for schools, community theaters, or regional theaters is considered more of a luxury in too many places rather than the necessity it truly is. Rachel Feeny-Williams demonstrates this beautifully by letting us feel part of the Mill Box Theatre and the wonderful folks who have called it home for so long. If you’re reading this, you probably know a place like the Mill Box. Chances are you started such a place. We need more Mill Boxes and folks to advocate for arts funding. To Theatre!

A wonderful challenge for costumers and for the two actors portraying the magnificent SHOEBILL STORK! Would love to see how a creative team brings this to life!

This is perhaps the most effective use of theater to advocate for gun control that I’ve come across. The concert style performance guarantees that Dan Taube’s powerful message will be delivered forcefully to the audience. This needs to be read and seen until, through some major social change, it becomes a period piece.

A remarkably theatrical telling of a little known (to me anyway) story out of WWII Britain. Alice Josephs’ script soars with poetry and language that engages all the senses. What an absolute marvel this would be to see on stage!

Wisdom can come from the most unexpected source. In this hilarious two hander we learn that the answer is indeed blowing in the wind. Visual and verbal comedy abound! Stage this one soon and let her rip!

This clever look at ORGANizational hierarchy is also a cautionary tale. Marilyn Ollett’s hilarious wordplay satirizes corporate culture perfectly. If you’re located too far from the head office, your concerns might not be addressed. And the results can be breathtaking!

The Bear is in the air! And now there’s a pair… of Bears! The action and the jokes are non-stop, except for the occasional moment to admire a lovely flight attendant. Bear is quite the ladies Bear after all. The Bear is racking up some serious mileage points, so hopefully there will be more high altitude hijinx from this furry frequent flyer! Until then, you will definitely get a kick on this plane!
