Sometimes you read something that completely blows you away. It can be unexpected when this happens but happened it did. This play is brilliant on every level. It’s profound. It’s stellar. There is simply not enough accolades I can provide that do it justice. You must read this play. It’s worth it!

  • Darrin Friedman: "TRUE UNTO DEATH" - full-length family tragedy based on actual events

The narrative seamlessly blends historical context with intimate family dynamics, crafting a rich tapestry that captivates the audience from the start. The characters are well-developed and relatable, their interactions brimming with warmth and humor. Everyday moments around the dining table, filled with reminiscences of past adventures and family quirks, are poignantly contrasted with an impending sense of tragedy.

  • Darrin Friedman: Fly Away

I don’t know what to say. This gripping narrative between two people struggling with the loss of a child is raw and, as Cole says, devastating. It’s unimaginable thinking about what these characters are going through. Cole threads the needle with an authenticity crafted from sheer will of wanting to tell a story that rings true. Outstanding and highly recommended.

  • Darrin Friedman: 2 Bdrm 1 Bath

This is a charming piece, structured in a way that keeps the reader engaged by the creativity of it. The characters are well-conceived, and the timeline progresses in a way that anyone who reads this will enjoy. Well done, and well crafted. Brava!

  • Darrin Friedman: world is a fuck

This raw, no fucks left to give play is unrelenting -- in all the good ways. Flynn shows us a side of humanity that is not exactly seen. Bravo on going there. Brilliantly executed.

  • Darrin Friedman: My Kind Of Christmas

The holiday season often brings joy. But for some, it carries a weight of loss and loneliness and the reality that time changes our lives whether we like it or not. This play is simply marvelous. What Dana Hall has done with this piece is show a kind of glimpse into what is and what can be if we accept that our time on this earth is just as precious as the people we choose to live it with. It’s beautiful. It’s lovely. It’s Christmas as it should be.

  • Darrin Friedman: Afterwards (a monologue)

Here, Scott shows a remarkable ability to point out the frustration of many creatives: stop questioning my motives. But even as his character explains himself, he is aware of his dated interpretation of the development of the character’s created world and how it affects those people who perceive it. Writers have been accused of formulating characters that are unseemly. But isn’t that what makes work interesting? Our characters interesting? Scott succeeds in giving writers the chance to say what we have always wanted to say to people who don’t get us: F*ck You for asking.

  • Darrin Friedman: I Think We're Lost

Sometimes, you read something so different that you can find yourself screaming, "Now this is wonderful!" That is how I feel about Fenton's effort with "I think We're Lost." It's a terrific take on characters we love and shows us just how creative you can be, even with people we think we know. This is an outstanding effort. I highly recommend it.

  • Darrin Friedman: The Christmas Commercial Conspiracy

Wonderful! This play is charming and has all the feels you would want for a Christmas ready piece with a chuckle and wink. I love how Williams is able to pack it all in just a few pages as well. This would be a terrific piece for any holiday time festival.

  • Darrin Friedman: Bulletproof Love

Scott’s talent is so immense that even in this nine page play the force of his genius can reverberate within each line of dialogue, which it does. I mean it’s simply brilliant. He’s brilliant. The fact that I’m recommending this piece isn’t the story. Of course I am. It’s more of a referendum on what I’ve done to deserve to do so. This short play is outstanding and a fine example of what writer’s can do in just a few short pages. Bravo!
