  • I. Love. This. Piece. What Herron does here is so magical and shows, without doubt, that with age comes wisdom, a great deal of resilience, and spunk. For one of her first pieces, "The Pickle Jar," demonstrates a command unseen by new playwrights. It's just wonderful. Keep it coming! I want more!

  • It's hard to describe this play other than to say it's brilliant. J.D. is a master of smart comedy with a message. This is beautifully crafted and hilarious. It's outstanding. Someone, please produce this show. I have to see it!

  • I've read several of J.D.'s plays now. His wit and humor shine in almost everything he writes. This is another brilliant example of that. It's smart, fun, and just plain good. Well done!

  • True to form, and on brand, JD continues to infuse humor with smarts, lending to rich dialogue and even better storytelling - all in a ten page play. I’ve been impressed by work and his style. Keep it coming.

  • This is the second piece I have read from this emerging playwright and I want to say for the record that both plays are impressive. What he does in a short amount of pages is wonderful. His characters well drawn, the dialogue is clever if not quirky, and the storytelling is simply terrific. Acorn, you’re on to something. Keep it up!

  • Darrin Friedman: From Day One

This is the first play I’ve read of this playwright. Let me be clear: it’s excellent. If you are looking for a smart piece that speaks to how many of us feel, this is the play for you. It would be perfect for any festival. Bravo! And keep writing.

  • Darrin Friedman: Underneath

This piece may be only 20 pages but what Dana Hall does with them is quite remarkable. This play is subtly powerful and resonates so deeply for me. Dealing with the end of life, and the difficulties a grown child might have with their aging parents, are challenging in the best of circumstances — and these, of course, are not. Dana has proven herself to be a powerful writer. I know this because I know her work. This play deserves to be among her best.

  • Darrin Friedman: "The Talk"

I love this piece. What Jacquie always does so well is gets to the point. And I mean it in the best possible way. Her command and whit shine through as they do in everything she does. No exposition, just great dialogue. I love her work. This one just works. Love it.

  • Darrin Friedman: Moonlight Over L.A.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing "Moonlight Over L.A.," and I wanted to express my admiration. The noir-inspired storytelling set in 197Os Los Angeles captivated me from start to finish.

The characters are vividly drawn, each with their own secrets and desires. The dialogue crackles with authenticity.

Congratulations on creating such a compelling work. I look forward to reading more of his plays in the future. Bravo!
