  • Dawn Branch: Izzy at Zoom Therapy

I absolutely love this play. It is a beautiful take on grief, isolation, loneliness, introspection, healing. Using a classic story for grounding, Blevins delivers an honest, raw look at one's woman's processing of her family's past and her survivor's guilt. I very much hope I get to see this live one day.

  • Dawn Branch: Astor Place

Being unfamiliar with this historic event was no barrier in enjoying the story unfold in "Astor Place." It's almost rewarding, in fact, to know that audiences were once this passionate about theater, whether with the right intentions or not. This historical drama weaves time in and out of rivalries, stage performances and court rooms to create a compelling narrative of it's core event. It's an ambitious piece, but one that presents a worthy challenge for a large ensemble.

  • Dawn Branch: Surprise Visit: A One Act Play

I read an earlier draft of this play and I have to say that it remains a beautiful piece. "Family" is a complex and often fluid term where boundaries are easily blurred and this play lives in those moments. The characters are authentic and the story compelling; you really want the best for all of them in the end.

  • Dawn Branch: Coconuts

This was just ... amazing. I literally could not stop reading; I had to know what was going to happen next. Terry and Charlie are stranded on an island, complete strangers, and trying to make the best of the situation while surviving. Each manages their sanity as best they can and it's brilliant to watch.

  • Dawn Branch: Bonefruit

"Bonefruit" is an intimate, fascinating look at people in a post-apocalyptic world. As the world changes, as people change, and the rules of society change, how does that affect one of the most vitally important aspects of being human - connection. A beautiful read and I am sure a beautiful production.

  • Dawn Branch: The Haunting of Goldilocks and the Three Bears

This is a very fun take on Goldilocks - who doesn't love a ghost! Young audiences will be delighted to see a story they know with new elements and the chance to interact along the way.

  • Dawn Branch: Haunted by the Past

A very compelling look at how our past actions affect our lives and the role that owning one's responsibility plays in how we move forward.

  • Dawn Branch: The Elusive Pursuit of Maximum Bliss

This is a great short that quantifies the unquantifiable. What does happiness look like and is there a way to achieve it, or in this case almost to "win" at it? The use of technology and the sci-fi setting allows the audience to believe we can, and the characters are sympathetic and honest. This is a really lovely piece that examines a very large question and does so beautifully.

  • Dawn Branch: Playwrights Versus Zombies!

If the distraction of "Top Gear" during a global emergency doesn't sum up humanity, I don't know what does. This wonderful piece from Chris Plumridge shows that art really can save the day and society, if we let it.

  • Dawn Branch: Cleo's Clients

Oh where to start! Cleo is having quite the client rotation today and funnily enough, it's a really interesting look at the spectrum of people we encounter every day. This hilarious script plays with who people say they are and who they really are (sex workers and clients both) and Chris Plumridge does a great job of respecting both sides of that duality while making the audience laugh. A lot. A very fun, very adult story that a theater company could have quite the time with.
