  • Jennifer O'Grady: Her Story

I love plays that surprise me and this short play does just that. What we think is pretty clearly one thing, a situation that requires and obtains a particular emotional response from us, turns into something quite different and startling (even chilling!) at the end. Well done!

  • Jennifer O'Grady: Daddy Daughter Dance

Very moving monologue about grief, loss, and memories. Suitable for Valentine's Day or any day.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: The House of Forgotten Shadows

Soucy's suspenseful horror play set in a haunted house is wonderfully creepy, full of thrills and chills, twists and turns. The script had me at the edge of my seat and makes it very easy to visualize how well it would work on stage for any audience that loves a good ghost story (like me!).

  • Jennifer O'Grady: A MINUTE PAST MIDNIGHT ON VALENTINE'S DAY, OR, THE UNTOLD TRUTH ABOUT ROMANTICS [A 1-MINUTE PLAY]

In just 60 seconds Martin has masterfully told a layered theatrical story about love and loss. So moving!

  • Jennifer O'Grady: Into Me (A Love Story)

Fantastically unique, surprising and theatrical short play about longing and love, with a single character who speaks to someone we can't see (or can't quite see--there IS lightning). Loved it!

  • Jennifer O'Grady: Haunted

I love this short, taut monologue in which a Victorian-era ghost addresses the current inhabitant of what was once her home and makes some fascinating comparisons between her life (or what was her life) and theirs. Soucy's Monica is such a terrific character--wry and funny with clear undertones of sorrow and grief. A fantastic piece for any female actor.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: GULF (a monologue)

Powerful monologue spoken by someone caught between the feeling of needing to stay for others and wanting to go. We feel Ellis' pain and longing and their dilemma. i love the cliffhanger ending too.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: Don't Touch The Carrot Cake

Funny and delightful ten-minute play about an unusual baking competition. With four super-fun roles for women and a surprise ending, this would be a hit in any short play festival.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: LIGHTS UP!

Very funny short play about theater and relationships. This would be enormous fun as part of a short-play festival and I'm sure actors would love performing it too!

  • Jennifer O'Grady: Closing Doors

I am blown away by this play. This is a timely, urgent, necessary play and I’m happy to see how many productions it’s had. In its taut ten minutes Minigan’s skillful play puts us right in the room with these two characters, both educators in an elementary school, making their situation feel so real and showing us the emotional complexities and painful ramifications of school-shooter drills, something many of us will never have to experience. I hope CLOSING DOORS sees many more productions.
