  • Jonathan Cook: Sacrifice

What a fun premise! This dark comedy makes you think it's going one way, then it goes another, then it gives you an ending that is truly satisfying. Jacquelyn has a talent for crafting clever stories and, in this case, she gives us humor and horror all wrapped into a tidy play. Brilliant work and highly recommended!

  • Jonathan Cook: Conflict/Resolution

In "Conflict/Resolution", Baughfman gives us clever storytelling by personifying plot devices. It's like we are in a writer's head watching their brain struggle with which direction is more important for their story to go. Brilliantly written!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: For a Limited Time Only (The Bread Play)

We produced an audio play version of this script in the Season 4 line-up of the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e17). Prillaman has brilliantly tied together romance, horror, and comedy in this twisty and sometimes absurd story. We often hear the phrase "unlimited deal" advertised by restaurants and Prillaman does a crafty job of showing us what it would look like if this phrase was taken literally. Very well written and highly recommended!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Immersion Therapy

We produced an audio play version of this script in our season 4 line-up on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e15). David MacGregor is a master of clever comedy and that talent shines like the brass of a clown horn in his play "Immersion Therapy". He takes us on a comedic journey as Melissa overcomes her fear of clowns by having to confront it face to face. Literally. MacGregor also craftily makes us feel sympathy for Droppo the clown as his feelings surface through the comedic situation. Well written! Great dialogue! Highly recommended!

We produced an audio play version of this script in our Season 4 line-up on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e14). How do you break the news to your 30 year old son who still believes in Santa that Santa isn't real? In this script, Gabridge gives us his take on that very situation and you can tell he had a lot of fun writing it while doing it! The play opens mildly enough but then turns into nonstop laughter as it's revealed the son is a grown man who still believes. Highly recommended!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Santa the Clause

We produced an audio play version of this script in the season 4 line-up of the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e13). Burch gives us an edgy alternate take on jolly old Saint Nick in "Santa the Clause". In a Godfather-esque fashion, the story paints a picture of how Santa truly feels about how the big corporate toy companies are taking the spotlight from him. With his chronie Beedle the Elf by his side, the dialogue is hilarious and entertaining throughout as they as they give Mr. Hargraves an offer he can't refuse. Highly recommended!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Secondhand Soul

We produced an audio version of this script in our season 4 line-up of the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e10). Ava Love Hanna's "Secondhand Soul" is a delightful play with a hilarious take on mistaken identity. And while humor may be prevalent throughout, Hanna keeps heart as the driving force of the story. This snapshot of Em and Vi's relationship reveals so much about their love for each other in only 10 pages. Funny and charming! Highly recommended to read or produce!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: The Demon Lady

We produced an audio play version of this script in our season 4 line up of the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e8). In this script, John Patrick Bray gives us an eerie atmosphere, a dose of misdirection, and a play where even the set pieces are part of the cast. You immediately get a sense that things aren't what they seem and Bray lets this unfold through believable dialogue and a very creative use of set design. Highly recommended to read or produce!
