  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Santa Doesn't Live Here Anymore

We produced an audio play version of this script in our Season 4 line-up on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e14). How do you break the news to your 30 year old son who still believes in Santa that Santa isn't real? In this script, Gabridge gives us his take on that very situation and you can tell he had a lot of fun writing it while doing it! The play opens mildly enough but then turns into nonstop laughter as it's revealed the son is a grown man who still believes. Highly recommended!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Santa the Clause

We produced an audio play version of this script in the season 4 line-up of the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e13). Burch gives us an edgy alternate take on jolly old Saint Nick in "Santa the Clause". In a Godfather-esque fashion, the story paints a picture of how Santa truly feels about how the big corporate toy companies are taking the spotlight from him. With his chronie Beedle the Elf by his side, the dialogue is hilarious and entertaining throughout as they as they give Mr. Hargraves an offer he can't refuse. Highly recommended!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Secondhand Soul

We produced an audio version of this script in our season 4 line-up of the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e10). Ava Love Hanna's "Secondhand Soul" is a delightful play with a hilarious take on mistaken identity. And while humor may be prevalent throughout, Hanna keeps heart as the driving force of the story. This snapshot of Em and Vi's relationship reveals so much about their love for each other in only 10 pages. Funny and charming! Highly recommended to read or produce!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Ain't the Biggest City

We produced an audio play version of this script in our season 4 line-up on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast ( https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e9). In "Ain't the Biggest City, Straton Rushing gives us a play of secrets that get revealed gradually, page by page. The mystery lies in the character's intentions for doing what they do and as those motivations are brilliantly unfolded, Rushing leaves the reader wondering what they would do in a similar situation. A fantastically written crime drama! Highly recommended!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: The Demon Lady

We produced an audio play version of this script in our season 4 line up of the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e8). In this script, John Patrick Bray gives us an eerie atmosphere, a dose of misdirection, and a play where even the set pieces are part of the cast. You immediately get a sense that things aren't what they seem and Bray lets this unfold through believable dialogue and a very creative use of set design. Highly recommended to read or produce!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Tooth Or Dare

We produced an audio play version of this script in our Season 4 line-up on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e7). McClain has found a perfect balance within this dark comedy. The situation is hilarious and the Tooth Fairy character enhances the dark humor through her dialogue and actions. These poor parents had no idea their absent-mindedness towards their daughter's lost tooth was gonna piss off such a feisty fairy! A great little comedic tale for any theatres out there wanting audiences with hurt sides from laughing so hard!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Wheel of Fortune Reversed

We produced an audio version of this play on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e6). Scott has masterfully written a beautiful moment of someone crossing over. While the personification of Death is often times written as a dark and menacing figure, Scott's version of Death is compassionate to its passenger. The dialogue floats in and out of playfulness and sadness and every word feels honest for the characters. Highly recommended!

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: A Tragedy Of Owls

We produced an audio version of this script in our Season 4 line-up (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e5). This script is a fascinating character study and John Mabey thoroughly did his part in bringing this real life event to the page. He took this historically documented moment and sculpted believable dialogue for these two characters in a remarkable way. Mabey is a master of his craft and did a wonderful job honoring Willem's plea "Let it be known".

  • Gather by the Ghost Light: Playing With Dolls

We produced an audio play version of this script in our Season 4 line-up (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e4). John Mabey has an uncanny ability to tackle important topics in his plays that keep you thinking after you're finished reading. "Playing with Dolls" addresses gender stereotypes and racial identity within a story about two strangers connecting to exchange toy dolls for their kids. The beauty of this script also comes from the small glimpse we get of this meeting of men which will surely develop into a friendship between the two strangers. Highly recommended for reading or...
